Hard work comes in two equally important forms: effort to perform & effort to improve. If we get stuck in chronic efforts to perform ("the performance zone"), it leads to tunnel vision & stagnation. If we also prioritise efforts to improve ("the learning zone"), we get better outcomes & work that is more interesting & enjoyable. Five ways to incorporate the learning zone:
1) Set the stage for the learning zone (learning while doing)
2) Embed learning opportunities into daily work
3) Model being a learner
4) Regularly reinforce messages about learning
5) Schedule regular discussions about how to get better at getting better

Ivan Toney was told by a Specialist at 18 that with his scoliosis he’d be lucky to walk in late 20’s. 👀
He is still playing Premier league football and his scoliosis has never held him back! 🦵⚽️

Track and Field needs to decide what model it wants.
Our championship meets are great, everything else has no story/intrigue.
Do you want a playoff model, where you build towards champ, instead of a one off
Do you want a majors model, multiple champs spread throughout the year

#Naloxone 101: Naloxone (or Narcan) is available without prescription everywhere in Canada. Most pharmacies will provide a naloxone kit free-of-charge, though access to injectable/nasal version varies by province. https://t.co/TK0TL6a7oR via @CMHA_NTL#HarmReduction
Stress tends to narrow us.
Our vision and cognition latch on to the 'threat' in front of us.
We can alleviate stress and anxiety by zooming out.
If you see me take off my glasses before a big presentation...I'm just zooming out to reduce stress!

We’ve all been there.
Despite our best intentions to be physically active, we don’t take action.
But how prevalent is this “intention-behaviour gap”?
A new analysis in over 26,000 individuals found almost half (47.6%) of “intenders” were unable to follow through with their intentions to be physically active.
Only 4.2% were “non-intenders” who exceeded their intentions, suggesting intention is a necessary, but insufficient, antecedent to physical activity.

The longer someone stays in hospital
The higher the risk of hospital acquired harm
Getting patients home is not just about "freeing beds" it's about giving them support in the right place and keeping them well. Keeping them in hospital longer than necessary adds to risks of harm
FIFA is conducting research - ACL injuries in women's football
“What's interesting for me, some of the early outcomes of this is that it's actually a multitude of areas that impact the ACL.”
💯
Also nice to see the gendered environment cited 👏 https://t.co/zVmfWTZ1hE
We can give the best exercise plan in the world, but it’s pointless if we cant help people to stick to it.
Less is more!, don’t fall into the trap of giving too many exercises.
It’s better to more of a few than a few of more.
That’s the key to unlocking adherence.
