@SenseiBear44@metoffice Morning Bear, I produce multiple peformance calculations a day for aircraft. A few degrees difference, a couple of hectopascals, a knot or a degree here and there makes the difference to me for safety. So yeah airport weather reports are extremely reliable and trustworthy.
@LozzaFox Do you understand the relevance of temperature in regards to aviation? It’s pretty important for performance, therefore if somewhere is going to have accurate weather readings/observations it’s going to be an airport. A few degrees can make a whole world of difference.
@thelmarouge@SandyofSuffolk My Bio is a bit out of date. I believe that not all their time was spent in this country so child care was probably a bit more cheaper or readily available overseas or maybe they had family closer to home or maybe any number of different reasons they managed. Hate whataboutery.
Hello mate
I'm hoping you maybe able to assist
I'm head of maintenance at a care home in Devon and I have a resident who turns 100 this year
He's ex tankie and doesn't have his medal that he earned
A colleague and I are busy sorting that and have applied for it.
We took him to the local rememberance last year which was his first actual trip outside the home in years.
Tpr Frank Goodison
14851797
28/9/44 to 9/1/48
War medal 39/45
Rather than just handing over his medal once it arrives I'm trying to find someone of seniority in his cap badge that could present it?
He's a good bloke and we'd like to look after him
Sick of these so called patriots calling for Charlie to dissolve parliament. Seems like they are not patriotic enough to live by the values of a democratically elected government.
@GoodwinMJ The eighties. It was so much worse. Crappy BR trains either late, cancelled or vastly overcrowded, then if you got in to “town” without IRA bomb threats, the tubes were in a very poor and sad state. It was Thatcher and the Tories fault then and it still is now…
@A321200@Shauns_Aviation No I was just genuinely intrigued that’s all, it’s the great thing about Aviation, you are always learning, once you stop then it’s best to leave it.
@BT77W I’ve been planning Florida flights way up to the North when usually it’s towards the bottom of the tracks or random routing south over The Atlantic. Keeps it interesting I guess…
