MEDIA WORKSHOP & FUNDING SUPPORT

The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat and the Pacific Islands News Association will be hosting a two-day media training session as part of the 2026 PIFLM programme on 28th – 29th August.

Funding support is available for selected Pacific-based journalists to attend the workshop and cover the Leaders Meeting. Expressions of interest for funding support should be listed in your registration.

The Pacific Regional Civil Society Forum opened today at the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat in Suva, Fiji, bringing together civil society representatives, including members of the Pacific Regional Non-Governmental Organisation Alliance, in person and online.
Held under the theme “Reorienting Regionalism: Collective Action for an Inclusive Blue Pacific,” the three-day Forum provides an important platform to reflect on regional priorities, the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent, and pathways for deeper and more meaningful civil society engagement.
In welcoming delegates, Deputy Secretary General Esala Nayasi acknowledged the critical role of civil society in the Pacific regional architecture, noting that civil society organisations are not only partners in regional processes, but connectors, advocates, and an important link to communities and the lived realities of Pacific peoples.
The Forum Secretariat remains committed to strengthening dialogue, partnership, and inclusive engagement with civil society across regional processes.
