गर्मी का मौसम हो, सामने मिट्टी का कुल्हड़ हो और उसमें ठंडी-ठंडी, गाढ़ी लस्सी... फिर भला और क्या चाहिए?

लस्सी उन ड्रिंक्स में से है जो भारत के किसी एक शहर या राज्य तक सीमित नहीं हैं। पंजाब के ढाबों से लेकर राजस्थान, हरियाणा, उत्तर प्रदेश और देश के दूसरे हिस्सों तक, जगह बदलते ही लस्सी का स्वाद, गाढ़ापन और उसे परोसने का अंदाज़ भी बदल जाता है।

कहीं इसे मिट्टी के कुल्हड़ में ऊपर मोटी मलाई के साथ परोसा जाता है, कहीं नमकीन लस्सी में जीरा और मसाले डाले जाते हैं, तो कहीं मीठी लस्सी में केसर, इलायची, गुलाब या सूखे मेवे अपना स्वाद जोड़ते हैं।

लेकिन इन सभी के बीच इसकी बुनियाद बेहद सरल है, दही को मथना और उससे एक ऐसी ड्रिंक तैयार करना जो स्वादिष्ट होने के साथ गर्म मौसम में ताज़गी भी दे।

दही को मथकर ड्रिंक बनाने की परंपरा भारतीय खान-पान में बहुत पुरानी रही है। समय के साथ अलग-अलग क्षेत्रों ने इसमें अपनी स्थानीय पसंद और सामग्री जोड़ी और लस्सी के कई रूप बनते चले गए।

इसी कहानी में कानपुर देहात की लस्सी का भी अपना अंदाज़ है। यहाँ गाढ़े दही को पारंपरिक तरीके से मथकर उसमें चीनी मिलाई जाती है और ऊपर से मलाई या रबड़ी डालकर इसे भरपूर स्वाद दिया जाता है। कुल्हड़ में परोसी गई यह गाढ़ी लस्सी स्थानीय खान-पान का जाना-पहचाना हिस्सा है।

Under the guidance of Hon’ble LG, @official_dda is restoring 120 hectares of the Delhi Ridge by replacing invasive vegetation with indigenous species through a scientific grid-based, multi-tier plantation model. The drive targets 1 lakh indigenous trees and 81,700 native shrubs under the 70 Lakh Plantation Mission.

Laid the foundation stone of a modern dog shelter at Sector-29, Dwarka today, to be developed by @MCD_Delhi along with Hon’ble Mayor Shri @praveshwahi Ji, Hon’ble MP Shri @RamvirBidhuri Ji, Hon’ble MLA Shri @kgahlot Ji, and other distinguished guests.

Spread across approximately 6,050 square metres, the facility will provide safe shelter, care and rehabilitation for stray dogs with modern infrastructure designed to ensure their welfare and well-being.

Also visited Delhi’s only cremation centre for small animals, and advised MCD to actively involve animal welfare organisations, dog lovers, veterinarians and subject experts so that their experience and knowledge help shape these initiatives in a sustainable and compassionate manner.

This project is a fine example of public-private partnership, with the GMR Varalakshmi Foundation’s CSR support enabling its development at zero cost to the MCD, further strengthening Delhi’s commitment to animal welfare.

हर सावन, लाखों श्रद्धालु बिहार के सुल्तानगंज से पवित्र गंगाजल लेकर बिना उसे भूमि पर रखे 105 किलोमीटर की कठिन पदयात्रा करते हुए झारखंड के बाबा बैद्यनाथ धाम पहुँचते हैं। रास्ते भर अनगिनत सेवा शिविर, भंडारे, चिकित्सा सहायता और स्वयंसेवकों का समर्पण इस बात का जीवंत उदाहरण हैं कि भारत में समाज को जोड़ने की शक्ति केवल व्यवस्थाओं से नहीं, बल्कि संस्कृति और लोक परंपराओं से आती है।

यह यात्रा हमें बताती है कि भारतीय सभ्यता में सेवा, सहयोग और सामुदायिक उत्तरदायित्व कोई नया विचार नहीं, बल्कि सदियों से जीया जाने वाला जीवन दर्शन है।

Chaired a comprehensive review meeting of @MCD_Delhi today to assess key civic priorities across the Capital, including solid waste management, prevention of waterlogging, and measures to curb vector-borne diseases during the monsoon.

We also reviewed toll gate-related traffic congestion and directed officials to examine the successful Indore model for implementation as a pilot in one MCD zone. The meeting further assessed the progress of the PM-UDAY Scheme, the road resurfacing plan, and the need for dedicated road safety audits across the city.

Emphasised that every MCD officer must remain vigilant, proactive, and accountable in delivering efficient civic services. A cleaner, safer, and more resilient Delhi can only be achieved through timely execution and a strong sense of responsibility.
