Started the week getting a nice clean out of the 2-year-old Ironcutter bermuda on Folk. We had some settling of drainage lines from the renovation, so shaved the top and will topdress heavily to level back out. Work on the practice pitch also continues. #SportsTurf

We have a few projects going on this spring for @PurdueSoccer. The training pitch is getting much needed drainage, fraze mowed, and sprigged with bermuda. @BushTurf spent the week installing pipe and backfilling with sand. @JSully260 Yes, the black paint raises the temperature at the surface, which makes the bermudagrass grow faster in those areas. Also, we couldn't paint on Friday because the field was being used.

Well, we made it, GAME DAY! After a difficult grow-in #FolkField is ready for 2023 season. Still some improvements to be made, but it should play great. Thanks to @PurdueSoccer coaches for all their sacrifices this year to get to this point. #BoilerUp #SportsTurf

Covers off 7/3, mow, spray, gran fert, topdress. Covers back on 7/6 cause of night time temps in 50s. You can see the unbridled enthusiasm of turf students putting covers on for 4th time during grow-in. 😕 Covers off for final time Tues, more updates to come. #SportsTurf

Have gotten way behind on Folk Field updates, frankly, cause there hasn't been much to say. So here is a small thread. Encouraging signs for roots, but lateral growth has been slow. Aerified pitch with bayonet tines and recovered wall to wall.

Day 34 of the grow-in and the covers have definitely helped. Its crazy to see where we would be without them. Unfortunately, it has helped weeds to grow as well, so herbicides are going out. Total of 4 days in the 90s and 2 rain events in 5 weeks.🙃 #SportsTurf

Day 27 of the #FolkField grow-in and mother nature is not doing us any favors. With this weeks temps, we sprayed foliar on Mon and put covers back on to hopefully stay on schedule. Next week looks like heat will return. 🤞#SportsTurf

Day 12 for the #Ironcutter sprigs at Folk. Covers off and first foliar spray on. Very happy with the progress so far, especially with having a few nights in the 40s 🥶 Topdress and some granular fert tomorrow. #SportsTurf #growin
