Japan, just copy what Steam did for games but for anime. Make a platform neutral to all companies they can distribute on. Instead of mod support, have fansub support to turn former pirate groups into allies.
Whoever does this will make ten trillion dollars.
Are you kidding me?
Are you fucking kidding me right now?
Is this fucking joke?
Fukushima? Really?
I mean, Japan did some pretty awful stuff in WW2, but... Fukushima?
Of all the ridiculous things to feel guilty over...
Fukushima was hit by multiple 50 foot tidal waves from a 9.1 earthquake at sea. That's not a fucking nuclear accident. That's your nuclear plant being hit by the hammer of god.
And after that, you contained it. You took the hand fate dealt you and you played it with everything you had. You had workers volunteering to be heroes, to stay and fight to shut that thing down.
And you saved... everyone. Not a single clearly connected death. In the middle of a natural disaster that cost you fifteen thousand souls, your people fought this thing and won.
Chernobyl is something for Russians to be ashamed of, because that was their own screwup, and stupid communists can't do anything right.
Fukushima wasn't your screwup. Fukushima happened to you. And your men stopped it.
Fukushima is not your national shame.
It is one of your finest hours.
Elon I swear if you change the algorithm so I stop seeing Japanese accounts posting about American bbq I’m going to break every law in the Geneva Conventions including mock surrender
My path of receiving a witness that the church is true:
1) I have a nice feeling going to church but it's boring and I only really go because my parents want me to.
2) Why does President Hinckley want us to read The Book of Mormon? Doesn't he know how long it is?
3) Fine, I'll read it. But only because my young men's adviser won't stop asking me.
4) I can't put the book down, my mind becomes full of light and I receive an undeniable witness from the Spirit that The Book of Mormon is true and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's true church.
5) I serve a mission and get married. Being a disciple of Jesus Christ is hard but worth it.
6) What's the CES letter? Did Joseph Smith and other church leaders really do that? Was the Book of Mormon really made up? All I know is I received a witness that the gospel was true.
7) After much research I learned that many criticisms against the church and Joseph where false or greatly misconstrued. I continue to feel the spirit and Christ's love as I serve in the church, study my scripture and pray.
8) I know through study, faith, and the witness of the spirit that Jesus Christ is the Savior, that Joseph Smith is his prophet and that The Book of Mormon and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's New Testament Church restored.
About 25 years ago, I was serving as ward mission leader for the Chevy Chase Ward in Washington DC. I taught the Gospel Essentials class for investigators and new members. I had a young man in the class who was getting a graduate degree in organizational behavior at one of the local universities (I think it may have been American University).
He noted that the Church was almost entirely run by a constantly transitioning group of tens of thousands of local unpaid, untrained, mostly short-term leaders who weren't even self-selected but who were asked by others to serve in specific callings. And this was done globally, across virtually every culture and ethnic group. He said that by all known organizational principles, the Church should splinter into a thousand diverging groups, and the fact that the Church instead functioned coherently and uniformly worldwide was a major witness to him of the reality of its divine origin and inspired leadership.
Hey, all! News has broken. Rather than post on all the threads, I figured I would do a new post here with some info and thoughts: https://t.co/SgW2PQRDZb

At the end of the Second World War, President Ezra Taft Benson visired the war-torn Saints of Germany.
He noticed that numerous false practices had slipped into the local units during years of isolation from Church headquarters.
Finally he lamented that if the war had persisted much longer, there would have been "crowns and crosse' on every pul-pit, and all this after only a few years of apostolic absence.
When there is no revelation from heaven, the philosophies of men quickly fil the void.
Let’s respond to these claims:
“Mormons are not Christians.”
False. Latter-day Saints worship Jesus Christ as their eternal God, Savior, and Redeemer.
“This is not controversial.”
False. This has been debated for nearly two centuries. Books have been written about it. Debates have been held about it. It is plainly controversial.
“It’s just reality.”
False. This is a theological assertion, not an objective fact. Polling shows most Americans reject the claim that Latter-day Saints are not Christian.
“They reject the Trinity.”
True. Latter-day Saints also reject later creeds, councils, and Greek philosophical frameworks that developed centuries after the New Testament.
“They are polytheistic.”
False. Latter-day Saints worship God the Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, through the Holy Ghost.
“They believe men can become a plurality of gods.”
Misleading. Latter-day Saints believe men and women progress eternally through Christ. Growth in knowledge and wisdom does not end at death, and salvation remains dependent on Him.
“This is not Christianity.”
That conclusion depends entirely on defining Christianity by post-biblical creeds rather than by faith in Jesus Christ as taught in the Bible and practiced by early Christians.
“Reject the LDS.”
Empirically weak advice. The Church is growing globally, convert baptisms are strong, and youth engagement and retention remain unusually high.
Disagreement is fine. Misrepresentation is not.
Warframe continues to find success because they know what their game is and who their audience is.
While Warframe is like any other live service game, they have their own issues, I've never seen a company listen to their players like Digital Extremes.
A year ago I started a series of videos chronicling my journey through Warframe, I documented everything I loved, what I felt made it unique, and went into painstaking detail over pain points and areas of friction that would keep players away.
Digital Extremes turned that video into a research paper, they documented my feedback, they translated my issues, they read the comments, and I think they quite literally addressed nearly everything from that series.
DE is completely in tune and aware of their audience, they don't make the mistake of chasing new ones, they just try to remove the barriers that prevent new players from trying the game. They never try to flatten the game or widen it for appeal, they just invest in what makes the game Warframe and it works.
My 10-year-old son tried to make me banana pancakes for breakfast on my birthday. Disgusting, a MISERABLE WORK even. It didn't even compare to my 14-year-old daughter's cake she baked me.
He thought he could please me? Imagine my son trying to show his love for me with futile WORKS. What's he trying to earn? Very offensive. I had to tell him his works and efforts are worthless and they don't please me at all, he's just lucky I chose him.
“If men do not comprehend the character of God they do not comprehend themselves.”
