@GardnerPhD Has there been a long term study on long term health benifits in a keto diet. I know keto is great for weight loss. But has there been any huge studies to prove it’s health benefits over 30 years ect. I have no doubt the insulin response is horrendous to health. C
@hubermanlab Not sure if it was his hunch, but Mathew Walker in “why we sleep”said some people evolved to have night owl genes because early Homo sapiens needed someone to stay up late and guard the camp from predators while most people slept. Probs were not happy about it any proof of this
@Wimbledon Tennis is such a mental game, whatever ever you need to do to get your mind right to start winning again is fair play, you are playing tennis, playing with the other guys mind as well as your own. And tennis journalist’s have been trying to manufacture the next MacEnroe forever
@sbkaufman Shame probably evolved to advance the collective and stop people exploited a situation to advance themselves at the expense of the collective. People can use shame against you on an individual level if they feel you have that e upped them, sometimes that shame can be warranted
@AdamMGrant I wonder if the dopamine dip you would get from disappointment suggests it is a good idea to steer clear of optimism. Optimism without expectation maybe optimal, if that’s possible. Can you manifest a positive future reality without optimism tho.
@WesternHighways @indigobabs@GlennonDoyle It’s such a shame causing someone to suffer through psychological warfare isn’t a sin in your religion, the self righteous guilt trip you guys dish out guilt free is horrendous
@GlennonDoyle Having my daughter gave direction and saved my life. But fate plate just as much a role in choosing life over abortion as much as fate played a role in that particular egg being fertilised by that particular sperm. Our decisions are driven by our biology
@noampomsky philosophers conundrum..but the universe doesn’t emerge until you’re conscious. I passed and regained consciousness four times during the decent Time disappeared during the blackout but time seemed linear it seemed I was transport thru space from one point to another instantly
@ScepticalDoctor @krosenque The human micro biome is so diverse in each human no one diet fits all. Because humans spread so far and wide across the globe the needs of the organism evolved accordingly so no one diet fits all. People who specialise in one field miss the big picture/patterns. Crippling belief
@BStulberg Well apparently whenever we see a situation our brain searches our history for similar occupancies and a milli sec later attaches an emotional marker about how we felt about it in the past. Then we automatically for an opinion based on that in the present moment..I’d say yes😀
@hubermanlab Alertness, sensory perception and memories ect. If you nap you use up valuable adenosine that may be needed to overcome the arousing affects of cortisol. I find the longer exhales work a treat to turn off the cortisol to allow adenosine to weave its magic,is that assumption fair
@hubermanlab It sounds like adenosine builds up and turns down the mechanism sun your brain that keeps you awake, like alertness, sensory perception, memory and turns up the things that put you to sleep. Would it be fair to say that if you are stressed cortisol is turning up the volume of
@elonmusk Words create complex concepts in the human mind. Concepts that have shifted our consciousness from contently being to wanting, planning and always striving for something better. Words made the human race realise that nothing is good enough.
@reziliusReza Because his elbow is bent the vibration is isolated between his wrist and elbow. After he grabs the beer he straightens his elbow to get distance then the vibration goes all the way up his arm into his body, shaking the beer. His left elbow bends when he throws the beer. Novices
@jennyalaking@RoqGray@hubermanlab@RichRollPodcast@rustyrockets sapowlski was saying the human brain needs answers. And religion evolves in every culture across the globe to answer the question of what happens when we die. And what cause the universe to form in the first place. Burial rituals stem from the religion that answers this question
