It was the right decision to move on. But this is extremely poor behaviour from the club. The guy has handed in his notice, had to deal with housing, maybe schools if he has kids etc.
As reported in the end of season review article last week, there was uncertainty as LFC held off confirming appointment of Etienne Reijnen to Slot's staff. Reijnen had already said his goodbyes at Feyenoord, but it dragged on and no contract was signed.

The lads laying into Mo Salah all season, throwing him under the bus and saying we need rid, now trying to take the moral high ground with Slot. Bore off
@SimonBrundish I wonder how Klopp feels. He was drained and wanted out, but stayed an extra year to help rebuild the team and get us competing at the top again. Less than 2 years later the squad limped to a fortunate CL spot and is being dismantled, with basically no money coming in for them.

Lost/sold/selling this lot for 50m or so. That's appalling. Allison and VVD next summer too.
If you thought we were horrendous at defending set pieces this season, wait until we lose one of our only 2 guys who can attack the ball in the air. Konate and VVD have been doing serious heavy lifting for these pansies. Losing him for free is a disaster.
Salah averaged 31 G/A (21G/10A) per PL season across 9 seasons at Liverpool.
To show how mental that is, only TWO Liverpool players not named Salah have ever recorded 30+ G/A in a single PL season - Fowler (x2) and Suarez.
✍️ Liverpool close to appointing Etienne Reijnen as an assistant to Arne Slot, a move that will cease - for the time being - speculation about his future.
Reijnen, says Slot, is “some I rate very highly”

Chelsea will need to balance the books and the book value for most of their flops is too high. It's time to revisit Colwill and Caicedo. Colwill would be pure profit for them, and Caicedos book value is ~70m.
Just wondering where the outcry was against Curtis Jones back in November when after a loss by four goals he criticised the standards and the style of play. Why didn’t he apologise publicly for that?
And where was the outcry against Alexis Mac Allister when he criticised the way the club was operating and issued thinly veiled digs at the ownership and those in power. Why didn’t he publicly apologise for that?
And where was the outcry against captain Virgil Van Dijk who publicly called the team a mess after they crumbled to another defeat before throwing his teammates under the bus. Why didn’t he publicly apologise for that?
Personally, if these guys didn’t have to apologise for voicing their opinions on the troubles and problems we are having as a football club, why should Salah publicly apologise for a post where he talks about the style of play (same as Curtis)
Players who have contributed in 50% or more PL games this season:
(min 15 games played)
Haaland- 21/34 (33 starts)
Bruno-21/34 (34 starts)
Salah- 13/26 (22 starts)
End of list.
If my job was on the line, and I needed a win for CL football, while having a "negative set piece balance", and playing a promoted set piece coach next, I'd probably be on the training ground drilling set pieces rather than yet another holiday 1 week before the season ends.
@HendrickD82 Robertson has been saying the exact same shit as Salah too.
1. "The standards of this football club have been set for years and years and years, and when you become below that, then the criticism becomes higher and higher."
2. "Your time comes and I don't think it's my time yet"
