@DJSkelton I think there must have been something unknown to us that made him call it for July. I've seen chatter that threshold for confidence letters was close to being reached, which I would understand. otherwise a completely senseless decision
@stephenkb slightly tangential but I'm surprised at the lack of *discourse* on Starmer becoming a permanent glasses-wearer in the last year. it completely changes his image. did he have contacts before? why the change? so many questions. definitely worth at least a column
@cjayanetti this is something people who have been to Japan always say but ... you need to try it to Japan. the ramen is life changingly good. don't even bother with it in UK because it'll only be a disappointment
@KennyFarq disagree sunak was more controlled - he was shouting and looked more opposition than prime minister. agree though that Starmer wasn't quick or bold enough, and looked a bit rattled. doubt it'll matter much, apart from steady a Tory ship before it sinks
@steamedhamms it's actually been the final straw for me. I was going to vote labour despite reservations but her treatment is totally unacceptable. can't bring myself to even in a small way endorse this
@alixmortimer @stephenkb "hi guys! I'm hear to give you the download on the company's exciting new restructure! I don't want to give too much away but you can't make an omelette without breaking any eggs, haha"
@MissAHaddow it is the irony of starmer: one of the blokiest political leaders in ages - he loves football and crap lager - and from a not posh background... but no one believes him because he looks and sounds like he does
@NeillDavidson_@vonney88 it closed down due to owner of the building scheduling massive refurbishment works. the pub lives on round the corner as the admiral woods so nothing to do with customer behaviour
@pcs_union you should clarify in your communications which government you mean (UK, Scot, Welsh). assuming all members are affected by UK gov decisions has happened before and it's led to confusion and disquiet among members
I try to be good humoured about British politics but this is everything thatโs rotten in the system: the architect of austerity saving money for the Queenโs hobby - and then having a jolly good joke about it on a podcast with the guy whose job it was to oppose him.
@ajmcq1993 why are you being deliberately obtuse? obviously this is about labour, their own support and shifting tone in the UK - they're not aiming this at netanyahu. I'm sure you know this...
@OssianLore they won because voters like you stayed at home, AND Labour was able to tempt previously SNP- and Tory-voting over to their side with a "change" message. (I'm not trying to blame you btw, just saying there are more factors at play)
@georgeeaton in a just world Osborne and Cameron would be in prison for crimes against the economy and society. so shallow and destructive.
aside: remarkable how the right wing media spun Brown as incompetent versus the coalition lot - he was ten times the politicians they were
