@tombennett71 Let’s also not forget that an assault at school is still on assault in criminal law. Just because it happens in a school doesn’t mean it exists outside of the law. Assault is causing someone to fear harm (it doesn’t even require the physical part which is battery)

@Behaviour_Guy The GCSE syllabus is the biggest reason for disengagement in English. You just need to look at the declining numbers studying literature at college. This is what needs addressing. Gove’s 19th century lit legacy.

@Behaviour_Guy I’m sorry but I find this a toxic idea. We should strive to teach difficult concepts well, to support struggling pupils, have clear explanations and provide helpful feedback. It’s not our job to entertain. There’s a reason for the recruitment crisis and this view is unhelpful.
