His clarion call against injustice and oppression under the British Colonial rule, echoed across the land, shaping the course of India’s freedom struggle. His unwavering fight for the justice and self rule -“Abua Dishum, Abua Raj” (Our land, our rule) continues to inspire generations.

The Embassy of India, in collaboration with Go Vilnius, organised the event “Namaste India” to promote cultural exchange, tourism and showcase India’s rich heritage. The programme featured a series of workshops and interactive sessions, including Classical (Bharat Natyam) and Bollywood dance, Ayurveda, yoga, and meditation. A parallel session on Henna and Rangoli further highlighted India’s traditional art forms, while Lithuanian participants also had the opportunity to experience the draping of the beautiful Indian saree. Indian handicrafts #ODOP were also showcased. Ambassador Devesh Uttam @uttamdev, while referring to the close bilateral relations between India and Lithuania, highlighted India’s physical and cultural diversity and invited Lithuanian friends to visit India. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and contributed to strengthening cultural ties and fostering people-to-people connections between the two countries.
