I think that in order for schools to be equal, there must be equity. Equity would be providing different resources to different students to help them succeed in school, and that would be an equal education. #3310txst (1)
It was true before and the pandemic has made it even more clear: An equal education isn‘t possible until leaders recognize that “language access for families is essential to a child’s education—not a supplement to it.” https://t.co/8pSPIoDXha
Agreed! The dress code was also so frustrating and dumb in my opinion. Like I couldn’t show my shoulders ?! Or one time a teacher dress coded me for rips in my jeans as if knees are distracting.
Something that would really help make our schools equal for all students would be to make sure they all feel judged equally on dress code. Female students feel way more judged than male students when it comes to dress code, and that is unfair. #3310TXST

Students should feel heard and safe in their school. It would not be fair for a student to not want to go to school because they are feared of being treated differently. Every school should welcome every student with open arms. #3310txst
I am hopeful that I can create an environment that educates each and every one of my students. I would never want to be the reason a student didn’t get the proper education they deserved. #3310txst
@MsEspinozaR Yes I totally agree!! The things that are going on outside of a classroom could involve anybody, so we should always stay mindful of those who are being impacted
I think part of a teachers job is to make sure our students feel included ALL the time. We should never want a student to feel like they aren’t important or smart because they look different than the next person, and engraving this early on will help make sure people always
