We should not think of fairness as getting the same amount of anything but rather as giving the right amount to those who need it to help them get to the same level as those around them. This can be thought of in the same way when it comes to school equity. #3310TXST
@AbigailHouser This analogy is amazing! I don't think we need to think of fair as being given equal amounts of anything because sometimes we need to give more to someone to help them get to the same level as those around them. I think your tweet would make a lot of people think. #3310TXST
@PaigeSpell This is really true. For example you have two students bleeding but the second one needs medical help. You give them both Band-Aids even though the second student needs medical help to be fair and give them the same treatment. It may sounds fair but it really isn't. #3310TXST
When it comes to educational philosophies, I think that a mixture of them would be best because every student is different so giving more options for learning is better in the end. I think trying to teach by only one would be incredibly hard. #3310TXST
@clower_zoe I like what you said here. It does sound really hard to think of only having one philosophy to base your teaching on. I think that a mixture of them would be best because every student is different so giving more options for learning is better in the end. #3310TXST
@PaigeSpell I agree with this. I think that it is important for everything to be kept up to date. We need to make sure we are helping students fit into the modern world. Sometimes things taught in the past are not right for today. So its important to constantly move forward. #3310TXST
One right that is really important to me is the right to freedom of religion. I don't want to have to be afraid as an educator to show my faith nor do I want my students to feel afraid either. School should be a safe space to show what we believe in. #3310TXST
@shay3401 This is so important to say! We as teachers should feel safe as much as our students do to speak our mind. This is supposed to be the land of the free and we should be given the freedom of speech as well, of course within reason. #3310TXST
@txst_cameron Yes! I agree with this so much! I hate that we as teachers must feel afraid all of the time of saying the wrong thing. I hate that it almost feels like we aren't free as teachers. We should be treated like any other American. #3310TXST
Our students deserve the best so I think that we should do everything we can in our power to provide them with the best education you can give them. We are advocates for them and we must do what we can to show them that they matter. #3310TXST
@txst_cameron I love this! You are so right about the classroom sometimes being the safest place for a child. It is so sad but also such an honor to be that safe person for children. Great point made! #3310TXST
@hollysteaching I totally agree with this. Our students deserve the best so I think that we should do everything we can in our power to provide them with the best education we can give them. #3310TXST
I think that knowing that students learn differently is the first step and then working to make sure you are teaching to cater to as many learning styles as you can is the next step to teaching diverse learners. #3310TXST
@HanHundley25 This is so important to think about! We need to remind students that all that matters is you know in your heart that you are doing the best that you can. That there is no reason to compare yourself to anyone. #3310TXST
Thomas Armstrong says it best, βA strength-based classroom is a place where students with all sorts of labels come together as equals to form a new type of learning environment.β Equal ground and understanding is so important in teaching! #3310TXST
@teacherpaytonjo I love this tweet! It is so awesome for teachers to be able to do everything they can to make sure that students know their worth! That we are all equal and deserve every bit of respect no matter what makes us different. #3310TXST
Something that I noticed about the accounts that I follow is that their main goal is to be helpful to teachers. They seem to all want to show us the best path to take to reach our students better and have an easier life as teachers. They are all so encouraging! #3310TXST
@BaileyBeal_ I really agree with what you are saying. What better way for us to learn tips and tricks as teachers than to learn from those who came before us. I feel like it can help us from making mistakes they already made and save us some trouble. #3310TXST
@faith_loughrey I for sure have trouble seeing how this is such a negative especially when our job is to help teach and protect the children of our society. I think us caring so much helps us be good teachers! #3310TXST
@Rayelle_Makow That is so true that school is good for exposure to all kinds of new things that a student might not be exposed to at home. Being a teacher sounds like such a big task knowing we affect our students so much but I honesty can't wait! #3310TXST
