@wdavidotaylor As an artist I can relate. Sometimes just sitting in my studio, listening to sounds outside the window, writing down a few thoughts, straightening supplies, it's all part of the creative process.
Freshly painted canvases are drying in my studio, I can hear the chimes just outside my door blowing in the chilly, March breeze. All four pups are napping next to me and I'm about to read a chapter of Art + Faith. What a beautiful Friday I'm having. #culturecare#beauty
A grieving mother drove over 11 hrs to see my exhibit at @berrycollege Martha Berry Museum. She stood in front of my paintings and wept for a young son she lost only a week back. Art is a portal into the New, and I am grateful and humbled by these moments. @iamculturecare
God is bigger. It doesn't matter what the question, the problem, the hurt. He's bigger. He sent Jesus to save you and the Holy Spirit to comfort you.

"Beauty from ashes". It's more than I can really comprehend. But I've seen it unfold in my life. I've seen it in others' lives. I can't wait to see more of it.
Isaiah 61:3
I've been creating spaces of peace and healing in my paintings recently. If you need somewhere peaceful to wander around, here's "Hidden Space". I'm wanting to sit in God's comfort today and maybe you want to as well. "Be still and Know that I am God." (Psalm 46)

Feeling is not a lack of intellectual capacity, it is the ability to sense something more than what our minds understand, it is the intelligence of the heart to know more than mere facts and figures.

Thankful for: art students who have youthful enthusiasm and energy, pup Oliver napping next to me, tomorrow is Friday, friends who lean into pain with me, flowers, mornings feeling more like fall, sunshine, my husband's hand to hold, my mom's flower paintings, my sister's laugh.
Exploring some sunrise and sunset feelings with my small woven pieces. I often feel a bit emotional as the sun goes down on another day and very excited and hopeful in the morning when it rises. #hope#fineartist#beautyfromashes
Maybe those of us who stay well aquatinted with our past grief, whose hearts are still raw with loss can bring Isaiah 61 to those we currently see suffering. May the oil of joy replace not only our grief but theirs as well. #healing#loss#hope
I honestly have felt silenced by the pressure to be political this past year, when I feel my calling is to represent beauty and bring healing. I'm just putting this out here to acknowledge that, in hopes that I'll find my way back to bringing meaningful thoughts here. #hope
Art is a calling. It begins in childhood and pulls at the soul of the artist everyday for their entire life. What a beautiful calling it is.

What is the relevance of beauty, today? It points us outside of the mundane, everyday gloom and pain toward some wonder in creation, toward hope in the Creator. It is, hopefully a window to look outward when we've forgotten what it miracle it is that we are alive. #hope
