Thanks for your critique, Janet. We actually tried a couple of episodes where House (Hugh Laurie) (please put the brackets in the right place) gets it right first time, but they were only 6 minutes long. NBC weren’t happy. Then we tried some where House never gets it right and the patient dies. The audience wasn’t happy.

One could apply your trenchant analysis to other art forms: JS Bach wrote 30 Goldberg variations on the same chord structure; Frida Kahlo painted 50 portraits of herself; Henry Moore, what??

The point is, or was, variations on a theme; if all you see is hospital, medical blah blah, then it wasn’t meant for you.

Nonetheless, I look forward to your first novel!

To my Indian friends: those who have been with me for a while and the new ones who have joined in the last 48 hours, I want to say thank you.

As many of you are new, you may not know my story.

I’m a U.S. Army combat veteran who has been fighting the U.S. government for 12 years. The Chief Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims has ruled in my favor, but I’m still waiting on the Army to comply with the court’s order by June 30th. My family and I are struggling badly in the meantime.

While very few Americans have stepped up to help me, the Indian community has been there for me time and time again.

So I’m asking my Indian friends, both old and new, please stand with me one more time.

Thank you for being there when so many others haven’t.
