Reckless Israeli actions not only violate Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, but also constitute a flagrant breach of international law. More than that, they seriously undermine diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace and stability in Lebanon and the region.
Israel is implementing the same strategy we have seen elsewhere, which is based on indiscriminate killing, forced displacement, and occupation.
- 3,400 people, including women and children, have been killed and over 10,000 injured since March 2026.
- More than one million are displaced.
- Civilians across Lebanon face an appalling escalation of violence, displacement, and human loss.
- According to the WHO, 125 health workers have been killed and over 300 injured since March this year.

H.E. Ms. Kaja Kallas, European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, at the Prime Minister House today.
Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister Sen. Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights Sen. Azam Nazeer Tarar, Attorney General of Pakistan Mr. Mansoor Usman Awan, SAPM Tariq Fatemi and other senior officials were also present.
The Prime Minister welcomed the EU High Representative and stated that Pakistan was keen to further strengthen the multifaceted partnership between Pakistan and the European Union.
While expressing satisfaction at the 8th round of the EU-Pakistan Strategic Dialogue held earlier today, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with the EU in key areas including trade and investment, climate change, security, migration, sustainable development, and connectivity.
In this regard, the Prime Minister highlighted the important role of GSP+ in ensuring stronger trade ties between Pakistan and the EU.
Discussions also focused on the regional and international situation.
The Prime Minister thanked the EU leadership for its strong support for Pakistan’s peace efforts in the Gulf region. He said that Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir were playing a crucial role in these efforts. He laid special emphasis on the need for the international community, including the EU to work collectively to ensure lasting peace in the region.
The Prime Minister also shared Pakistan’s perspective on the regional situation in South Asia, as well as on Afghanistan, with the EU High Representative. He also conveyed his best wishes to EU Council President Antonio Costa as well as to EU Commission President Ms. Ursula von der Leyen and reiterated his cordial invitations to both leaders to visit Pakistan soon.
EU High Representative Kallas appreciated the role played by Pakistan for regional peace and conveyed the EU’s strong interest in deepening strategic engagement with Pakistan.
On the expansion of the Security Council, Pakistan’s position remains clear and principled: we do not support expansion in the permanent category, with or without veto.
Permanence does not equate to representation; rather, it institutionalizes presence frozen in time. No State can credibly claim to represent an entire region, and certainly not in perpetuity. Genuine representation derives from periodic elections, equitable geographical distribution, and rotation.
A reformed Council must derive its authority not from the permanence of a few, but from accountability to, and confidence of the wider membership.

On this solemn occasion, Pakistan reaffirms its unwavering solidarity with our Palestinian brothers and sisters. We demand an immediate end to the oppression, occupation, and violence being perpetrated by Israeli occupation authorities against Palestinians.
Pakistan also reaffirms its resolute support for the creation of a sovereign, independent, viable, and contiguous Palestinian State based on pre-June 1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

I welcome Iran’s announcements that the Strait of Hormuz is completely open for all commercial vessels for the remainder of the ceasefire.
This a step in the right direction.
The @UN position remains clear: we need the full restoration of international navigational rights & freedoms in the Strait of Hormuz, respected by everyone.
I also hope that, together with the ceasefire, this measure will contribute to creating confidence between the parties and strengthen the ongoing dialogue facilitated by Pakistan.
