میرے والد جاگیر دار تھے نہ سرمایہ دار ۔ میرا سرمایہ تعلیم تھی جس نے مجھے اس منزل تک پہنچایا۔ میرا خواب تھا کہ جس دھرتی نے مجھے کامیاب کیا میں اسے تعلیم کی بستی بناؤں تاکہ غریبوں کے بچے اور بچیاں بھی میری طرح تعلیم کی طاقت سے زندگی میں ترقی کریں۔ سب سے پہلے نارووال میں سکولوں کا جال پھیلایا جس میں 70% سے زائد لڑکیوں کے سکول کھلے، پھر ڈگر کالجز قائم کئے اور آخر میں تین یونیورسٹیاں۔ یونیورسٹی آف نارووال میں 5,000 سٹوڈنٹس میں 4,000 طالبات زیر تعلیم ہیں۔ یہ وہ ہزاروں پچیاں ہیں جو اعلی نمبر حاصل کر کے گھر بیٹھنے پہ مجبور ہو جاتی تھیں آج وہ یونیورسٹی کی تعلیم حاصل کر کے سافٹ انقلاب کی داعی بن رہی ہیں۔ اسی سوچ اور وژن 2025 کے تحت ملک کے پسماندہ اضلاع میں درجنوں نئے کیمپسز کی فنڈنگ کی۔ میرا یقین ہے کہ تعلیم کی طاقت ہی اصل قوت ہے۔

نارووال میں خواتین کی ترقی اور تحفظ کے موضوع پہ کانفرنس منعقد کی گئی جسمیں یونیورسٹیوں کی طالبات کی کثیر تعداد نے شرکت کی۔ کانفرنس کا مقصد خواتین کیخلاف تشدد اور ہراسانی سے متعلق قوانین کو اجاگر کرنا اور طالبات کو آگہی دینا تھا۔ کانفرنس سے خطاب میں خواتین کے حقوق کے لئے اسلام کی تعلیمات کو اجاگر کیا۔ آج دنیا میں ترقی کا اہم پیمانہ کسی بھی معاشرہ کا خواتین سے متعلق رویہ ہے۔ خواتین کو ہر قسم کے خوف، تشدد، ہراسانی اور امتیازی سلوک سے مکمل تحفظ فراہم کرنا ہمارا دینی، اخلاقی اور قانونی فرض ہے۔ نارووال میں بچیوں کی تعلیم کو ترجیح بنا کر خواتین کی ترقی کا راستہ کھولا گیا ہے جس کے نتیجہ میں یونیورسٹی آف نارووال کے کل 5,000 سٹوڈنٹس میں 4,000 طالبات ہیں۔ نارووال کو خواتین کی ترقی کے لئے مثالی ضلع بنانے کے لئے اقدامات اجاگر کئے۔

My speech at National Seminar on Women Empowerment & eliminating Gender based violence and harassment, in UET Narowal. Today Narowal is emerging as a leading district for empowering women through education. University of Narowal has 4,000 female students out of 5,000 total students. Eliminating fear, coercion, violence, harassment and discrimination against women is a pre-requisite for development. Female students were made aware of the laws and rights they have for protection against any act of harassment.
