Local news for people in Palace Road, Leigham Vale, Tulse Hill, West Norwood, Streatham. Spread the love. Safe streets for all. Tulse Hill Tourist Board.
@rajeshk4u@willnorman The main roads are where the shops and stations etc that people want to use are situated. People want to use the quickest and most direct routes.
I spy with my little eye ... new kerbs on our Streatham Hill scheme.
The A23 here has a terrible safety record. Tragically, 3 people have been killed. There were over 70 collisions over 3 yrs.
This scheme will make it safer for everyone with new bike lanes & ped crossings.
Detectives are looking to receive dashcam / doorbell footage after a stabbing in Acre Lane left a man fighting for his life. Anyone with information - particularly those who saw a black BMW 330E - can contact the Met on 101, quoting 907/2MAY.

One Green Party councillor & one Labour elected in St Martin’s Ward, which covers Tulse Hill, Palace Rd, High Trees & St Martins estate.
Well done to our new councillors Jeremy Isaacs (Green) & Georgina Berriman (Lab).
(Reform & Tories in last place.)

We support this campaign to stop developers demolishing Gipsy Hill's heritage, local pub the Railway Bell. Object to the planning application by 11th April. The developer wants to get rid of the pub for a 3 storey building infilled on all 3 sides. https://t.co/hvPLT8pkIu

Locally listed two-storey ‘cottage’ PH. Original pub front c1864. Is there another Victorian suburban two storey 'cottage' pub in London & with stables as ❤️as this?
@justme1972xt@PalaceRoadSW2@OlgaFitzRoy@StMartinsLab The point is that a vehicle hit this at high speed and if someone had been waiting to cross at that moment they could have been injured or killed. Multiple vehicles have mounted pavements around the gyratory at high speeds and have even ended up in gardens and inside homes.
Another serious collision in Tulse Hill involving a car & bus on Norwood Rd. A sombre reminder of the jeopardy around the gyratory and the roads onto it. Sign the @TransformTH petition to the Mayor demanding action to make our roads safer: https://t.co/0hTmJmO7Oz
@norwoodforum
Thank you for continued campaigning on this @OlgaFitzRoy@StMartinsLab. We desperately need VivaCity & speed cameras at Tulse Hill. At up to 15m wide, the road is the same scale as a 4 lane motorway: an outdated & unnecessary design that encourages swerving and speeding around it
@natehiggins@Boenau@TfL@transformTH …but all orgs involved (TfL, police, local authorities) need to act to get more cameras installed at dangerous locations.
TfL are currently procuring new VivaCity cameras with AI capabilities which do more than just enforce speed. But it’s still too slow.

@natehiggins@Boenau We’ve questioned @TfL about this extensively along with @transformTH & they say it isn’t true. Whatever criteria may have been used in the past, it’s clear it is too difficult to get speed cameras installed. Ultimately the police are in charge of speed enforcement…

Excellent new plans by @TfL to install 2 new pedestrian/cycle crossings on the south circular: one by Hillside Rd to connect the Streatham->Peckham cycle route, and a new one outside Fenstanton Primary School, both to replace existing pedestrian ‘refuges’.

We will be writing in support of this proposal - finally St Martin’s estate residents will be able to cross safely by Roycroft close and make full use of the lovely new cycle path that was delivered as part of the Healthy Route programme last year.
