On April 9, 1948, the village of Deir Yassin became the site of one of the most tragic and defining moments in Palestinian history. More than one hundred Palestinians, including women, children, and the elderly, were killed by Zionist paramilitary groups Irgun and Lehi. Homes were burned, the village was emptied, and the survivors were forced to flee. News of the massacre spread quickly across the country, creating fear in towns and villages and accelerating the mass displacement that would soon engulf Palestine.

This event played a major role in the Nakba, when over 700,000 Palestinians were forced from their homes. Families fled carrying only what they could, leaving behind their houses, lands, olive trees, schools, and generations of history. Entire communities disappeared, villages were erased, and the social fabric of the Palestinian people was violently torn apart. Deir Yassin became a symbol of that loss and of the deliberate campaign of terror that shaped the Palestinian exodus in 1948.

Today, Gaza reflects the continuation of that history. A large portion of its population are descendants of those who were displaced from villages like Deir Yassin. They live under repeated Israeli military attacks that destroy homes, take civilian lives, and force displacement once again. The trauma of Deir Yassin echoes in Gaza, where families continue to face the threat of losing everything they have. For many Palestinians, Deir Yassin is not only a moment in the past, it is a beginning that still shapes their present and connects directly to the suffering they endure today.

The story of Deir Yassin reminds the world that history is not just memory, it is lived experience. Every home destroyed, every child killed, and every family displaced today is a continuation of a history that began over a hundred years ago.

عبود أجندات يتعامل مع موضوع الهوية الوطنية الأردنية بمعايير مزدوجة؛ فما يفعله الفلسطيني يعتبره مساسا بالهوية الأردنية وغير مقبول، بينما لا يرى المشكلة نفسها عندما يقوم أشخاص من جنسيات عربية أخرى بالأمر ذاته. لذلك يبدو أن موقفه ليس دفاعا حقيقيا عن الهوية الوطنية، بل موقف انتقائي قائم على أجندات وحساسيات تجاه الفلسطينيين. ويبدو أن ��راء هذه الحساسية قصة شخصية، وهي أن فلسطينيا أخذه ووداه وراء مصنع الكراسي، ومن هنا جاءت هذه الحساسية تجاه الفلسطينيين

Hamas accepted the '67 borders in its 2017 charter and now works with figures it once called Israeli collaborators. So, remind me what was wrong with the PLO and why they took over Gaza in 2007?

Any alliance with Dahlan, with all the supporters and projects behind him, could turn into another version of the Abraham Accords, and that would be a political disaster by all measures.

The Palestinian cause cannot fall into a trap drawn by a Zionist hand, no matter what form the alliance takes or what slogans it raises.

It’s pathetic to watch Hamas, Dahlan, and these other factions come together against the PA and PLO, especially after Gaza has been devastated and Palestinian unity has been torn apart for years. Now they’re sitting at the same table with Kushner and pretending they’re the solution. We’ve been saying for years that these alliances would eventually surface, but nobody wanted to listen. Funny how the tables turn.

أبرز الجرائم والمجازر التي ارتكبتها فصائل لبنانية بحق الفلسطينيين في لبنان ومخيماتهم خلال الحرب الأهلية:

* عين الرمانة – 1975: هجوم على حافلة تقل فلسطينيين، وكان من الأحداث التي ساهمت في اندلاع الحرب الأهلية اللبنانية.
* تل الزعتر – 1976: حصار وقصف مخيم تل الزعتر من قبل ميليشيات الجبهة اللبنانية، خصوصًا الكتائب وحلفائها، ثم اقتحام المخيم ووقوع مجزرة وسقوط أعداد كبيرة من المدنيين الفلسطينيين.
* الضبية وجسر الباشا والنباعة – 1976: هجمات وتهجير للسكان الفلسطينيين وتدمير مناطق ومخيمات فلسطينية خلال المعارك بين الفصائل اللبنانية والفلسطينية.
* صبرا وشاتيلا – 1982: دخلت القوات اللبنانية إلى المخيمين ووقعت عمليات قتل جماعي بحق الفلسطينيين، إض��فة إلى لبنانيين. قُتل عدد كبير من المدنيين خلال عدة أيام.
* حرب المخيمات – 1985–1988: هاجمت وحاصرت حركة أمل عدة مخيمات فلسطينية في بيروت، خصوصًا صبرا وشاتيلا وبرج البراجنة. تعرض السكان للقصف والحصار والجوع والقتل والتهجير.
* مستشفى غزة في شاتيلا: خلال حرب المخيمات، وقعت عملية اقتحام للمستشفى وسقط قتلى من المرضى والجرحى والعاملين بحسب تقارير عن تلك الفترة

We have another crybaby whining about Palestinian faction elections while defending people like Dahlan, who were already pushed out of the party, yet somehow still want them included just to give non Palestinians another excuse to attack Palestinian factions. Meanwhile Hamas literally held internal elections days ago, elected new leaders, and filled positions, and nobody cared or even talked about it. Funny how some of you obsess over one election while completely ignoring the other. The double standards are hilarious.

🚨President Mahmoud Abbas elevates his son & multiple cronies to the (de facto) highest decision-making Palestinian body through rigged elections

The Fatah central committee election saw the total exclusion of any opponents of Abbas (e.g. Dahalan's current) & was overstuffed with non-Fatah members (e.g. security agencies officers, PA employees).

Some of the most popular & competent of Fatah leaders didn't make it into the central committee, while Abbas' son (whose key qualification is merely being the president's son) was "voted" in along with multiple loyalists to Hussain Al-Shaikh (the vice-president & single most unpopular figure inside Fatah).

The election results now give a total grip on Fatah (& subsequently on the PA & PLO) to Al-Shaikh & the Abbas family.
