How can we be deforestation free? First, we perform a LUCA. Then, farmers grow oil palms according to organic practices, either by reconditioning degraded land - often from previous pasture or crop lands - or by transitioning existing, conventional palm farms to organic.⁠

Bosco manages a highly diversified farm. A diversified farm supports wildlife to thrive. The wildlife that Bosco and his family regularly spot are possums, tigrillo, guanta, armadillo, sloth, ant eater, monkeys, otters.

A challenge Gerardo's family faces is their neighbors’ conventional banana plantation, in which many which chemicals are used. Fortunately, Gerardo was able to agree a good buffer zone between so they can prevent contamination from spraying.
