Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat 🙏🇮🇳
A true hero of the 1962 Indo-China War, he fought alone for 72 hours at Nuranang, k*lling over 300 Chinese soldiers.

He was martyred but became a legend.
Even today, the Indian Army treats him as a living soldier at Jaswant Garh in Arunachal Pradesh.

With only a small Mumbai team, a DRDO fund willing to bet early, & 5 years of someone refusing to look away from a hard problem.

That’s the real lesson in deeptech: it doesn’t only need deep pockets; it needs capital with Purpose & Patience.

India’s defence future will be built on both, big sovereign bets on scale, & small sharp bets like this one that the TDF made on ingenuity.

We need a lot more of the second kind.

Family Offices can play a significant role. I’m personally looking at such initiatives.

What a beautiful gesture amidst the chaos of an airport!. A proof , if any is required, that finally it is the upbringing and breeding that stands out.

And, contrast it with the uncouth behaviour of some people, where they not only destroyed public property, but showered abuses on people.
My note- we are just 7 plus days from Independence Day. All we can do is to show our love to Ma Bharat-keep your tricolours ready- let's all display it outside our homes. 🙏🙏🙏

As a fauji wife, it breaks my heart to see some Gen Z influencers mocking & abusing our Armed Forces.

Since I met my husband & even after marriage, we haven’t celebrated a single one of his b’days, family functions or major festivals together for years. We see each other only once every 2–3 months.

Duty always comes first. That’s the reality of countless military families.

Before u disrespect our soldiers, remember the silent sacrifices they & their loved ones make so the rest of u can celebrate yours. 🇮🇳

A story of faith and belief

Major (later Lt Col) Dhan Singh Thapa, the Paramvir Chakra awardee when captured by the Chinese in 1962, his time spent as a prisoner of war was not extensively discussed. When he was imprisoned by the Chinese troops, he had discovered a long stone that he prayed to. He was certain that it was because of Lord Shiva he was able to endure anything because of that. In fact, Major (later Lt Col) Srikant Hasabnis of 5 Jat, a prisoner in the same military camp, communicated with Lt Col Thapa's family about their ordeal.
When the Chinese soldiers entered and one interrogator asked him, "Who are you praying to?" Major Thapa was worshipping to lord Shiva on the stone he had discovered. My God replied Major Thapa. The interrogator then asserted that your Gods are untrue. My God is always with me Major Thapa said in a bold tone as he slipped off his jacket. Even if you shoot me, he will have to save me, but I will live. I survived because my God wanted me to live even though hundreds of your soldiers were unable to kill me. Major Hasabnis had told him afterwards. Major Thapa, wear your jacket; you never know when these Chinese might shoot you.

Amidst all the SM noise, we did not celebrate Vimag labs enough. They built India’s 1st software-defined, magnet-free electric motor platform.

Standard EVs rely heavily on Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors. These require physical, rare-earth magnets embedded directly into the motor's rotor to create a magnetic field. Vimag Labs completely eliminated the physical magnets.

This is a win for cheaper EV manufacturing, but the real, strategic importance of what they did goes far deeper into global geopolitics & structural engineering:

- The global processing capacity & supply chain for rare-earth materials is overwhelmingly controlled by China. By engineering a completely magnet-free motor, Vimag Labs quietly handed automotive OEMs an escape hatch from a massive geopolitical supply chain vulnerability.

- Vimag Labs designed this architecture to scale up into massive high-power systems ranging b/w 200 kW & 600 kW. This means the software-defined, magnet-free platform is directly targeted for critical, heavy backend sectors: defense applications, robotics & advanced cooling infra, allowing India to build high-performance military & industrial hardware entirely free from foreign mineral dependencies.

- The breakthrough is the result of 87600+ (~10 person yrs) engineering hrs spent by co-founders Manish Seth, Rahul Krishnamurthy & their team. They built a massive IP pipeline (including 5 granted patents, 10 active applications & 15 trademarks) & signed a manufacturing MoU with Jendamark to scale the physical production of these motors right out of India.

Vimag labs handed a rising nation the ultimate industrial escape hatch: a future where our engines run on Indian brainpower, while leaving the rest of the world fighting over the dirt. 🙏🙏
