India’s financial system runs on the commitment of its banking professionals. *During national challenges—from the extraordinary workload during demonetisation to keeping essential banking services operational throughout the COVID-19 pandemic—bank employees stood firmly with the nation.*

They have consistently kept the economy moving when it mattered most.

Today, five-day banking is not merely about an additional day off. It is about modernisation, productivity, work-life balance and recognising the contribution of banking professionals.

*The Indian Banks’ Association submitted the proposal for five-day banking in July 2023. Yet, more than three years later, its implementation is still awaited*.

*We stood with the nation when it needed us most. Now, it is time for the nation to stand with its banking professionals*.
