@NJGov I don't get it: my 3 siblings & I can all go to work in different places & be exposed to 100s, stop by the store, take our kids, dates & friends to dinner at my 70 y.o. parents' house, all take ALL those germs back home to up to 10 households & repeat? #toomanyexceptions
@jonfavs Agree, but then the upper echelons of the DNC have not exactly been beacons of justice, fair play, collaborativeness or good judgment in recent years. If one could run in the Democratic primary without having to worry about being sandbagged by or beholden to party leadership...
@jbarro “Capitalizing on polarization to win votes in the middle” is a pretty pejorative description that could otherwise be expressed as “representing those who are repulsed by the racism and repressive theocratic fundamentalism of the right but feel discounted and unwanted by the left
@ashleymaytweets Hey, unless you’re really indicating that the death of a twelve year old girl is arguably not ‘tragic’, that headline needs to be changed. We don’t need a police quote to tell us this is tragedy, and the implication by quotes that it isn’t is pretty jarring.
@NateSilver538 How about the possibility some FBI agents in the Southern District of New York were in the tank for Trump? We seem to forget that they committed leaks about Clinton while denying or downplaying investigations of connections between the Trump campaign and Russians.
@pavelk_blrus@Newsweek Karl Rove was perhaps the most open advocate in recent memory of repetition and doubling down on false statements until they are accepted as truth. Our current President is the most demoralizing example I can imagine of its efficacy. This headline is wrong; I hope they’ll fix.
@Newsweek No, he didn’t say the report says that & neither does your article! Fake headlines don’t help anyone, @Newsweek. He said that HE believes that & he’s been told the report will address *whether* Trump wittingly or unwittingly helped Russian efforts. Facts matter, don’t preempt.
@SenatorNewmanMN@PioneerPress *6 years ago, in 2012; an article that said she told a therapist 2 years later doesn’t seem to be confirmed anywhere else
@SenatorNewmanMN@PioneerPress If true,he lied under oath, AGAIN. If true, he’s suborned perjury by others, now. If true, he’s libeled his victim, now. She told her therapist about it 38 years ago. Most tell no one, because of people like you. They hide & suffer, rather than be attacked again, and again, by you
Ford has absolutely nothing to gain in telling her story...
If Kavanaugh is not appointed then another judge who will overturn Roe V Wade and protect the president will. The GOP will make sure of it.
So stop. It takes courage to tell your story 1, 5, or 500 years after.
In addition to claiming Gorsuch was #1 in his class at Harvard, where he was outside the top 50, Trump keeps claiming Gorsuch was #1 in his class at Oxford.
Oxford tells me: “PhD candidates are not ranked at Oxford – either by the university or by their individual department.”
@roddreher People who use their power to hurt, degrade, control or coerce others are not ones to entrust with SCOTUS role of guardian/arbiter of the Constitutional rights & obligations of the American people, or ethics & integrity of the judicial system. Not about vengeance, but fitness.
@roddreher I’m sorry that happened to you, and glad it doesn’t dominate your life. But it’s not about whether you would hold it against them. It’s about whether they still abuse power over others? Whether they would perjur themselves, would attack you, defame you or others for that power?
If they know something, they need to come forward, period. And if DC law firms are afraid to represent federal court employees & protect them from retaliation (you can see why they would be), firms that don’t regularly practice in the DC circuit should be lining up NOW to do it!
