BREAKING: Iran's IRGC has completely closed the Strait of Hormuz, according to two Iranian officials.

A senior Iranian official said the IRGC has fully shut the waterway, while a spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee declared: "We seized control of the Strait of Hormuz by force and will continue to hold it by force."

Iranian officials say the move corrects what they describe as a flaw in Paragraph 5 of the June 18 MOU, arguing the agreement failed to clearly establish Iran's management authority over the Strait and instead committed Tehran to sharing administration with Oman.

MarineTraffic data over the past 24 hours shows just six merchant vessels completing the transit—all via Iran's northern traffic separation scheme. Not a single vessel was observed using the U.S.-backed southern corridor through Omani waters.

The latest traffic picture follows IRGC claims that it struck two commercial vessels, one reportedly sinking, alongside U.S. strikes on Iranian targets and missile exchanges across the Gulf.

Watching Iran turn Khamenei’s funeral into a regional show of force, alongside the situation in the Strait of Hormuz and the rise of the Houthis, should finally put an end to the fantasy anyone might still have had that Trump's (failed) war weakened the Islamist regime.

The Iranians understand optics, psychology, and political theater better than almost anyone on the planet. And no, that is not an exaggeration. They turn funerals into deterrence, survival into victory, and every Western hesitation into propaganda with sharpness, brilliance, and precision.

Meanwhile, the world keeps making the same mistake: confusing fanaticism with rational state behavior and rewarding escalation with concessions. The result is already obvious: Iran emerged emboldened, its proxies stronger, global trade routes under threat, and the West weaker, poorer, less respected, and less feared than ever before.

On America’s 250th Independence Day, all I can say is a huge f*** you for messing up the Middle East AGAIN on a scale we could not have imagined; for leaving us with a disaster we will have to deal with, bleed from, and suffer through for decades; and for your bottomless arrogance and stupidity.

It took Israel far too long to understand that it must break free from America’s military chokehold. According to Netanyahu, we are about a decade away from that, which is way too far.

The West, for some reason I still fail to understand, stubbornly refuses to grasp the brutal and obvious reality: you cannot deter people who have turned death into a virtue and martyrdom into a currency by diplomatic and politically correct means. We fight for prosperity, stability and life on Earth while Islamist extremists believe they are fighting for rewards in Heaven. One side fears death. The other has spent decades teaching entire generations to embrace it.

With the European Union still mistaking moral posturing for strategy and politicians like Trump confusing bravado with statecraft, God help the free world, because its leadership increasingly seems incapable of understanding either its enemies or the consequences of its own actions.
