Very few people get to say they lived their lives on their own terms. She could, and she did. She completed and perfected life.
She carried a light around her that brightened the world in everything she touched. In a way, her death reminds me of mortality, not like I ever forgot, but because she seemed to have transcended life while alive, so much so that I forgot she could indeed die. Her life was so extraordinary that her death almost feels absurd even as a suggestion. I never considered the possibility.
She made the world a better place, and it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say the world would be worse off without her in it. She makes me wish heaven were real so she could carry her light to the angels and teach them to shine brighter. She is my personal saint and I don’t even believe in saints.
The world makes a lot of untalented and problematic people famous but boy we got this one thing right. There has never been anything more right than the fact that she was famous for being talented, kind, compassionate, deeply loved, and loving greatly — one of the greatest loves of all time.
We cannot continue to remain so divorced from the effects of public pile ons on people like this. It’s extremely unkind. You can share your thoughts in your group chats.
