When Paul Burrell was refusing to give up certain Princess Diana possessions and was found out that he stole things from her, her family sued him.

Just before the trial started he published a public letter towards the Queen telling the whole world that if he goes to trial he will have to tell EVERYONE Everything, suddenly a day after, the Queen intervened remembering that Burrell told her he will take Diana's things for safekeeping and she said yes.

And the trial collapsed. It was very very clear Burrell was referring to Princess Dianas recordings and tapes and Fawcett. For years it has been said Charles and Fawcett are lovers and servants caught them having sex, Fawcett treaties the Prince as his partner and one servant was recommended by princess Diana having seen Fawcett giving Charles a blow job.

All these stories are very very well known. The palace and the press buried them. They made sure to give Prince Harry to the wolves so nobody will be talking about all this.

He started out as a low grade servant, has no education whatsoever. He was a servant to Prince Charles along with Paul Burrell. He was cunning and calculative, made sure to get to Charles good graces by telling on other servants and spying on Princess Diana. Their relationship became so close that he apparently would be squeezing Prince Charles toothpaste in the Morning, would be the one responsible for Charles hygiene. His name came to prominence when after Diana's death in her death inquest when asked if Princess Diana had kept secret recordings her sisters told the judge that Princess Diana had tapes and recordings, but they didn't know their whereabouts. The press named Michael Fawcett as part of those recordings in connection to another servant. They wouldn't post the whole story because suddenly a super injunction happened from the palace. Apparently Princess Diana recorded a servant telling her that Michael Fawcett repeatedly drugged him and raped him. Charles became aware of it and send that servant to the priory. He committed suicide afterwards. Princess Diana despised Fawcett and after the separation she demanded he would never be alone with her sons.

After the separation Paul Burrell went with her and Fawcett went with Charles. That was it. He controlled everything that had to do with Charles program, social life. Hr became absolutely powerful and started working for the Princes Trust. Another servant reported him to the police for bullying and racism but quickly took that report back, was fired.
Two people who donated jewelry to the prince trust find out they were sold for cash. They reported it to the police and it went back to Fawcett. Then the Royals household started an investigation that proved he was frequently getting the gifts, selling them. Then Charles again protected him telling the investigation he told Fawcett he could take the gifts.

As a result he was let off. And what happened next? Fawcett created his own PR company and was hired from Charles. He then became director of the Prince Foundation. A few years after that, pretty recent he was caught getting millions on suitcases apparently for "charity". He was immediately fired. But he remains Charles closest person and confidant living and travelling with him.
