Meanwhile Bessent is doing his best to keeps rates from going higher. This is what happens with $40T in debt, they know not what to do. On one hand the interest on the debt is exploding, on the other hand inflation is too high. I think the Fed will jawbone and talk, but there actually functioning body will be taking a backseat to an ever increasing debt spiral at the federal level. Taxpayers will pay academics at the Fed to observe the economy and talk about high inflation, but they cannot do anything about it without causing a currency crisis.
