@annlittler I work with an author who sent me over 50 versions of an MS in a year! They contained, here and there, "small tweaks that were necessary." Or sometimes "little changes that were needed."
But I get how your WiP MS is never far from yr mind and u want it as good as it can be ๐
This is just one of the scores of emails I've received since publishing 'The Last Stop Video Shop'.
In the grand scheme of life, book royalties no longer seem that important. ๐
@PJSkinnerAuthor@keithapearson Tis alas true! Too many authors say the same. I'm not really a writer, but I did pen a short story that featured my nephew as the protagonist. Still my sister (his mother) hasn't read a single word of any book I've ever been invovled with! She might read a celeb biography tho! :(
If you use Audible to listen to audiobooks, things are about to change... but not necessarily for the better. For you, and especially for authors.

I am thrilled to announce that I am now represented by Vicky Weber @vickyweberbooks at CMA!
I am so lucky to have found the perfect champion forย my YA dystopian thriller AT NIGHT, WE HIDE. Her excitement matches my own, and I havenโt stopped smiling since the call!
@annlittler@vickyweberbooks Way to freakin' GO, Anne! I'm so pleased for you. Your regular and unwavering postivity, empathy, fun, and support of everyone is unmatched in my network and feed. No one deserves this break more than you, I suspect :)

Sometimes, a reader's message really gets you...
"I hadn't read a book in about 20 years. For some undiagnosed reason I've always struggled to pay attention, switch off mid page and inevitably get bored and abandon novels 1/3 the way through."
"My brother lent me The 86 Fix as a recommendation for the book that got him into reading again and a strange thing happened. I read the whole thing, engaged and got attached to the characters. Then bought Beyond Broadhall and Tuned Out. Loved both and currently can't put Last Stop Video Shop down."
"As a struggling songwriter in an indie band for 20 years I truly know how challenging it can be self releasing and promoting. Giving a piece of yourself away with every release alongside the mass of financial and emotional ups and downs that impact more than just yourself is a hard road to walk."
"In case you're feeling that post release downer I'd very much like you to know that your books have made a difference to somebody. Thank you for your work. Please keep creating and when inevitably one of your releases gets the recognition it deserves and gets made into a movie."
Iโm reading a recently published book in which the word fortnight (meaning a period of two weeks) is spelled โfortnite.โ We're not going to make it, I'm afraid.
A quick way to boost your mood in hard circumstances is to read for a few minutes daily. I spent several years in deep grief after the death of a best friend and books were the thread that guided me out of the labyrinth of despair. You will not regret beginning to read again.
