@UgwunnaEjikem However, in a 4-2-3-1 formation, there's an argument for both.
There's 1 striker, a CAM, RW that can be RAM, LW that can be LAM, 2 DMs. Based on manner of play, the LW could function as a forward or an attacking midfielder (LAM). Ronaldo functioned as a LW, Ozil as a RAM.

@UgwunnaEjikem Wingers are forwards. Side-midfielders are midfielders.
There's a difference between RW and RM. The formation makes the difference. In 4-4-2, you'd have 2 forwards, 4 midfielders (RM and LM included).
In 4-3-3, you'd have 3 forwards - striker, LW, RW(not midfielders)
