In response to this I assume you don't live in the US. The US experiences weather extremes unlike anywhere on earth. Coldest recorded temp in the lower 48 was -70 in Montana. Coldest in europe was -50 in Germany. Hottest temp in the US is 134 highest in europe is 119. Highest recorded wind speed in europe is 208 mph in the US it Was 321 mph. Now I'll admit American build quality has gone down in recent years but a place that gets more tornados annually than every other place on earth combined shouldn't get lectured by anyone from a place where most homes don't even have AC.
