Today it has been reported that during our first round of action in England mortality rate was 11.1% above the 5 year average.
What they haven’t reported was that in Wales, where no strike action took place, mortality rate was 14% above the 5 year average. 1/3
@Raja19@docdai It's such a wake up call as a "junior" looking up to consultants and clinical leaders thinking they have all the power and then you become a real adult and realise the truth 🤣
Solidarity with my English friends and colleagues today #JuniorDoctorsStrike demanding better pay, better working conditions, fighting for the health service and patient care. Stand your ground!
Sad state of affairs that doctors and nurses are striking. Fully support them. They are doing it for the security of the health service, this broken system cannot continue.
Coming soon to a picket line near you...
When I started my thesis around frailty in undergrad Med Ed I came across a paper by @SearleDoc & @Krockdoc that shaped my work. Here a few years on, @GraceInvaders & I share some thoughts on why frailty is so challenging to teach and learn about. https://t.co/mIbLZ5v9z8
Dear British Press,
There is nothing in Prince Harry’s autobiography as scandalous as the implosion of our NHS.
So please report on the things which are actually important
Thanks

@MikeStone2_EoL Having recently completed a "birth plan" I can tell you it's nice to have your values and preferences written down following discussions. Not every eventuality can be accounted for. Still important to voice/write down your views though for when you can't articulate them later!
So incredibly grateful to @CV_UHB emergency dept for seeing, assessing, treating and discharging my Gran all within 5h last night. She was reluctant to attend (82, hearing impaired, English 2nd language) but she was so impressed with the care. Thank you so much to the ED staff
