@RichardBurgon Guaranteed shared furlough (i.e. employers MUST agree to furlough for childcare reasons, rather than the current wording of "can be") needs to be put in place. Leaving it to employers to agree is not good enough
We're back on today! Please bear with us if there's a mad rush to our advice lines, and keep trying. Please check the schedule below for our opening hours, and check if you should be phoning the National or London line. #maternityrights

Guaranteed shared furlough (i.e. employers MUST agree to furlough, rather than the current wording of "can be") needs to be put in place. Leaving it to employers to agree is not good enough.
With school closures on the agenda once again, the impact to working parents MUST be negated.
Now is the time for proactive, and not reactive policy. The Government needs to ease the anxieties of parents and implement policies to support those with childcare needs.
@DrSdeG I spoke to a 20 year old first time mum, who laboured for 4 days alone in hospital. The poor girl begged for her mum she was so distressed. She was kind enough to share her experiences for @ParenthoodMatt "Pandemic Parenting" series.

Today in our "Pandemic Parenting" series we feature Abbie's story.
Abbie laboured for 4 days in hospital completely ALONE, and in agony. Her story highlights why the #butnotmaternity campaign is so important. This shouldn't be happening.

In the North of England tonight 000s of parents in low paid jobs will know their employers cannot afford their wages due to lost business from Tier 3 restrictions.
Now they have been told their kids will not get a free meal during half term.
Torys love poverty, hate the poor.
Please read the recent blog post of @ParenthoodMatt featuring the support for @EllamentalMama campaign to fight for single parents to become a characteristic for Equality act 2010. Please head on over to their site to read and see how to help #singleparent#parenthoodmatters
@ParenthoodMatt@bethanjones20 Love this article, single parenting in a pandemic is like running a non stop marathon, across Lego with no sleep. We need our rights enshrined so at least some of that pressure is taken off us and our kids
