@PattyHajdu We agree it’s critical governments all work together to grow the $10aDay program. That means tackling the waitlist crisis by funding more non-profit spaces. And you can’t do that without fair wages for the staff taking care of our kids too. Hope you discussed these issues today!
Today in Ottawa, child care advocates raised serious concerns about possible cuts to Canada’s $10-a-day system.
Workers can’t work without child care. We must protect it, expand it and invest in it. #ChildCareNow#cdnpoli

100 organizations co-signed a letter to the Ministers responsible for early learning and child care, in advance of their meetings on January 30th. The joint letter calls on all levels of government to strengthen the $10aDay child care system.
Child care should be seen as a project of national interest, says Carolyn Ferns, public-policy coordinator for @ChildCareON. Will Ontario ever achieve $10 a day daycare? Tonight at 8pm with @JeyanTVO | Producer: @ColinEllis81
What a chaotic day! My daughter’s daycare is closed due to college strike.
I’m proud of her educators who are fighting for the future of colleges & services they provide.
Calling on @fordnation to fund colleges is part of broader need to fund child care & all public services!
Parents agree that @fordnation & @PaulCalandra need to sign a $10/day childcare extension now. No more delays.
#10aDayChildCare is good for families & the economy. Without it, parents will drop out of workforce & spend less in local communities.

Workers & families are calling for a #10aDayChildCare extension agreement to be signed ASAP.
Then all levels of government can tackle expansion and waitlists together.

Did you get a notice from the Ministry this week saying child care fees could go up next year? The notice is causing confusion and worry among parents.

What we need from the provincial government right now is leadership to secure the future of $10aDay child care.
The federal government has offered a 5-year extension agreement.
@fordnation & @PaulCalandra need to sign it as soon as possible.
