We’ve been plagued by road works on the same stretch of the A4 just outside Bath throughout the year. Why I wonder is there seemingly no coordination (fig once, do many). Rarely appears to actually be anyone working in said road works, and one direction over an hour queue!
@SamHigginson12 Hadn’t caught up with the news that you’d moved Sam. Whilst of course I wish all good luck, I know you won’t need it - the Royal Devon are lucky to have you! All the very best to you.
Has anyone else received an ‘anti-fraud’ email from Nespresso. I couldn’t believe how naive it is, either it is a fraud itself preparing the way for a scam, or it isn’t a fraud and Nespresso have just taken the anti fraud awareness back several years.
@NedClatter@severnhospice@NedClatter we’ve not met, but welcome to a club we none of us chose to join. I lost my precious wife last October to Brain Cancer 3 1/2 months after her diagnosis. So I feel your pain and my sympathy is with you. I have found talking helps, I am a good listener if you need one.
@tmanasseh @RichardEGrant @OliviaGranted I joined that club last year. @RichardEGrant your thoughts on not wanting to get over it resonate, but your experience and that of other members of this club are helping me to cope. I thank you all.
A year since I lost the love of my life, and I’ve been reflecting on the new life I find myself living. This short post shares a little more about the past year, and thoughts for the future as I venture step by step into the evolving new chapters.

Wouldn’ normally take to twitter, but I’ve been trying to get Nat West to make changes to an Association account since April following a change in treasurer, end of July still not completed! Tried to complain on-line and the ‘how to’ page gives lots of info - except ‘how to’ grr
@Norfolk_LL@TheQuadram It certainly is, the research is phenomenal, but also the diagnostic work done in its connection with the hospital. When we built Quadram we believe it had the biggest endoscopy unit in Europe and the most advanced in the world. A major contribution to health in Norfolk.
@JohnMHancock@JohnMHancock throughout I’ve found them an awfully difficult company to deal with, constant bombarding with unwanted sales calls, & they make it really hard to ‘leave’ them. But this now completely takes the biscuit!
Hope Virgin Media see this! I changed broadband providers a few weeks back. Virgin said they would collect their kit on 17th March, just had a text today to say they have charged me £40 as they have got their kit back, but they’d refund it when they collect it! What cheek! 1/2
2/2 what awful business practice from Virgin Media! I think I’ll charge them £4/day from now for safe storage of their kit. Hope you’re reading this Virgin Media!
@mrssuecharles @RichardEGrant Thank you Sue, sadly Debbie was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in June. As you would expect the diagnosis was a great shock, but I feel privileged to have been able to care for her myself at home until, as I held her, she slipped gently away.
A very big thank you to @RichardEGrant for the brief interview on R4 just now. Having lost my wife just a matter of weeks ago, I found Richard’s experience of dealing with Christmas after his own loss very helpful today.
