a really cool thing about being canadian is that @militariegun ‘s $20 for 20 just cost me $37 (no beef to them! they’re gs and it’s a cool concept it just, is annoying living here sometimes!)
I dunno man, if this is as prevalent as it seems (and I hope it's not), having a generation that doesn't really know how to do anything feels like not just a cultural dead-end but a societal one as well
Iran’s nuclear program has long been a cause of grave concern, and its missile attacks across Israel threaten regional peace.
Today, I convened our National Security Council to receive an update on the situation and to ensure that all necessary steps will be taken to protect our nationals and our diplomatic missions in the region.
Canada reaffirms Israel’s right to defend itself and to ensure its security. We call on all parties to exercise maximum restraint and move towards a diplomatic resolution.
@tboyblues@seanorr imo stating directly that it was to give a voice to the people who spoke obfuscates the point of affordability (which i agree with, though i do believe that any housing is better than no housing). i respect the protest vote but not the way it was represented.
@uglyblender this is about optics. the pull quote reads the way i read it regardless of what sean meant. if it needs to be explained, then it needs to be considered through the lens that it’s read through before it’s explained. most people aren’t gonna post a reaction on twitter,
@uglyblender if you and the rest of cope don’t think learning lessons through public reaction is valuable then I really don’t know what else to tell ya lol
@uglyblender I think it was a mistake to say something quippy that comes off hardwick-coded (that will of course be pull quoted!) when the intention of the protest vote is to call attn to something specific. lots of eyes on him! value in clarity.
Trump will be objectively worse on the economy and inequality. That's beyond all doubt. But people were in pain, and they voted for the side that acknowledged some of that pain, and made big bold promises.
billionaires blatantly bought this last election via purchase of media spaces, of flooding the internet strategically with their influence, and democrats are holding onto the past. they’re not grappling with the current political landscape that the right is operating in
There is not a single swing state that Kamala would’ve won if EVERY single Jill Stein, Cornell West, & Claudia De La Cruz voted for her.
In states where Trump won by a large margin, populist economic policies won.
