Having a beautiful time in Copenhagen. I've seen at least 20 Vilhelm Hammershøi paintings. Today I saw a woman arguing with her partner as he was crouched up in the front of the cargo bike she was riding.
Had a mastectomy/reconstruction surgery on Wednesday. I was supposed to stay overnight, but 90 minutes after surgery I opened my eyes and immediately started asking questions about my short term disability paperwork, so I got to go home the same afternoon. Generally feeling good!
@TheLastMachine I have a vivid memory that he joked about changing the lyrics to 'that's when I reached for my chihuahua/that's when he barked and ran away' and I was so mad because that's clearly better than what he wound up with.
I've posted about this before, but at Q&A I was at several years ago, someone asked Fredrick Wiseman how he keeps people from staring at the camera and he said 'I think they're too busy staring at my big ears.' What a loss.
Logging in here on the dumbest website to give the stupidest update: I have breast cancer. I will have surgery and follow-up treatment in the next few months. Any good vibes are appreciated.
This 1841 watercolour is a painting by writer of 'Wuthering Heights' Emily Brontë. It depicts her pet merlin The bird of prey was rescued from the moors near her home and Brontë named the bird 'Nero'. The Brontë siblings all had good skills in art.
