🔎 Le Louvre forme un restaurateur irakien pour sauver les collections du musée de Mossoul.

C’est la mission que s’est donnée le musée dans le cadre du plan de réhabilitation du musée, gravement endommagé par Daech en 2015.

Grâce à cette initiative, Saad Ahmed Abid suit actuellement une formation au Centre de Recherche @c2rmf pour maîtriser les gestes essentiels d’un restaurateur métal.

L'objectif : être autonome pour pouvoir restaurer, sur place, les œuvres du musée de Mossoul et redonner vie à un pan du patrimoine irakien.

Un projet en partenariat avec le @WorldMonuments et la @smithsonian Institution.

🔎 The Louvre trains an Iraqi restorer to save the collections of the Mosul museum.

This is the mission the museum has set itself as part of the rehabilitation plan for the museum, which was severely damaged by Daech in 2015.

Thanks to this initiative, Saad Ahmed Abid is currently undergoing training at the C2RMF Research Center to master the essential gestures of a metal restorer.

The aim: to be autonomous so as to be able to restore, on site, the works of art in the Mosul museum and bring back to life a part of Iraqi heritage.

A project in partnership with the World Monuments Fund and the Smithsonian Institution.
