@dandakich Connecticut went to 35 seconds and now teams rush shots and have pulled back structured sets. I think a 60 second shot clock would be best-can’t hold it forever but also plenty of time to get a good shot. High school level has wide array of ability and small schools need time.
After watching a week of college basketball the main thing I’ve noticed:
Combo moves in a training session are a waste of time.
3pt/ reads / straight line drives / finishing with either hand should be the recipe for success.
We have to stop making such a big deal out of youth basketball tournaments. Kids don’t need championship rings for winning three random basketball games in January. Need to go back to playing on 8 foot hoops for young kids and developing in-house, stop the madness!
@CoachSamAllen Wednesday is tape breakdown and review what we didn’t do well enough/skill work.
Thursday is game prep day and go over specific details we need to complete in order to win on Friday.
@TheHoopHerald@Roommates__Show Facts. Forgot to add some people in AAU put too much emphasis on winning over player development. Hurts kids in favor of coaches/directors egos.
@CoachHackGO I’ve seen an offense similar to it. Same weakside actions but 5 clears to weakside wing to clear room for 3 coming strong side for layup. Once reversed to 5 same actions happen for the opposite side.
