The #parlicovidmemorialquilt project aims:
We wanted there to be a clear driving force behind the quilt's creation. We developed the four c’s to act as the thread running through, & joining, the entire project. These 4 c’s are: Create, Connect, Convey, Commemorate.
Join us at our #CreativeNetworkCrafts session with @CreativeLivesCL on Mon 8 August from 12pm, where we'll be talking about the @ParliQuilt project and how crafting can benefit mental wellbeing, featuring @DawnButlerBrent MP and @naomia_creative. https://t.co/qATaihW89E
I made 3 patchwork blocks for the Covid Memorial @ParliQuilt in tribute to my constituents Margaret Gunshorn and Jane Rowbotham and all the other key workers in Worsley and Eccles South who died during the pandemic 👇
Here are the first 64 patchwork blocks all sewn together! These patchwork blocks are being pieced together to create a lasting textile memorial of the Pandemic that represents the multitude of experiences within Parliament whilst also demonstrating unity through a single quilt.
👏 Brilliant to see that the beautiful @ParliQuilt has made a return to Parliament.
It's such a moving tribute to those we have loved and lost during the COVID-19 pandemic, with patches from constituencies up and down the country.
Lockdown gave me time for a bit of creativity & contribute to a lasting memorial - so glad to see everyone else’s blocks and the quilt coming together #parlicovidmemorialquilt
Great to see the block from #plymouth I submitted to the @ParliQuilt now seen together. The Plymouth Covid Quilt is in my office window before it starts a tour of the city to remember those we lost, the sacrifices made and the people who got us through it. Thank you.
I stopped by the Covid Memorial Quilt in Parliament @ParliQuilt today to see how it's coming along.
Representing Streatham, we have a lovely entry from @SLRAcharity alongside other patches from up and down the country #Streatham#ParliCovidMemorial
Looking forward to seeing #ParliamentCoronavirusMemorialQuilt today in @HouseofCommons -Basingstoke’s “patch” is from the Mayoress, an expert quilter; her moving contribution is about how vital communication has been to combat loneliness thru the Pandemic @BasingMayor
Here is the superb block that @JNHanvey contributed to the #parlicovidmemorialquilt . We quilted in the seams of this fabulous block whilst gazing in awe at the precision of the points that meet - in awe!

"Stitching is also meditative & therapeutic with each stitch capturing a thought, moment or a memory.
We lost both friends & family during the Pandemic & this panel is dedicated to their memory & to the memory of those lost across my Kirkcaldy & Cowdenbeath constituency."
