#audiencestudies#filmstudies
Featuring a section of 9 general articles on diverse topics such as transnational audience mobility, telenovelas, film festival adaptation during COVID-19, and fan fic; in addition to a themed section on the dynamics of film audiences, there should be something for all!
The issue is rounded out with Part 2 of the themed issue on International Film Audiences: Industrial and Academic perspectives. We hope you enjoy the new issue!
Firstly: we have an array of general papers on topics such as transnational audiences and #streaming; middle aged female #fans of #KPop; #theatre performances on Zoom; and #books as #souvenirs 2/3
I’m teaching my first lecture on the Researching Audiences module at Northumbria tomorrow, so naturally I’m thinking of Martin and all he taught me. Will be dedicating the lecture to his memory and ensuring the students know what an important scholar he was ❤️
The new site includes all past issues.
Volume 19 Issue 1 will be released shortly, with 19.2 to follow in the coming months.
Thanks for your patience while we restored the archive. 2/2
We're pleased to announce the new look @Participations_ site: https://t.co/UIUqOqf9m5
Now hosted by the @dhishef the new platform will remain open access in line with the late Professor Martin Barker’s vision for the journal to remain free and open access 1/2
His vision was for a journal that was truly open access, had transparent reviewing policies, would support junior colleagues and could act as a gathering point for audience scholars no matter their disciplinary background. We are committed to continuing his legacy in the future.
It is with the upmost sadness that we must announce the passing of founding editor Professor Martin Barker. The editorial team send our sincere condolences to his loving family, friends, and colleagues 1/3
Everyone who works on Participations was devastated to learn of Martin Barker’s death. His wisdom, generosity and kindness offered an example of the best an academic could be. He created Participations as a space to share and celebrate audience research. 2/3
Sincere apologies for the delay with our #May edition - we are having tech issues. Thanks for your patience while we work on restoring the journal #techwoes
