Heading to Edinburgh for pleasure (not work) next week (Weds to Sat). If any of the gang from @SPECTRUMRes fancy a catch up/coffee, it would great to see some friendly faces - drop me a message.
Snippets of messages sent to my phone this morning from friends and family:
"Don't bother turning on the TV."
"Don't look at the news. For the next four years."
"Never underestimate the capacity for human stupidity."
"Terrifying"
"WTF"
"Ouch"

New SARG research commissioned by @P_H_S_Official and published today has found that increasing the price of the cheapest tobacco products through minimum pricing could help to reduce smoking rates and improve health in Scotland https://t.co/WEYI4Cb1Qb
After 21 years of remarkable leadership, our CEO Deborah Arnott has officially retired. Her tireless work has reshaped tobacco control, accompanied by substantial declines in smoking prevalence. We thank Deborah for her incredible impact and wish her the very best in retirement.

Alcohol-free beer making up 8% of total beer production in Germany is actually pretty remarkable. It's more like 1-2% in the UK (of sales not production). Reasons for cautious optimism or at least curiosity about potential public health benefits as this market continues to grow.
New paper out in @AddictionJrnl led by @Katie1East as part of her @SSA_Addiction Fellowship: Harm perceptions across vaping product features: An on-line cross-sectional survey of adults who smoke and/or vape in the United Kingdom https://t.co/ukG0G7CStP
@ZoeLClarke Thanks Zoe! Would be great if you were to become a Walkley neighbour! I've been to Hathersage lido before - it's beautiful but oh so cold so I'll be taking my wetsuit next time I go. Live music and swimming sounds perfect - must look that up.
After a 2-month-long personal housing crisis, Maple and I have found somewhere to live and are moving to Sheffield on 15th June. Recommendations for coffee shops, snooker/pool clubs, quiz nights, leisure centres (with pool and sauna) and wild swimming spots near Walkley, welcome.
@MelissaOldham I saw the alpaca farm on the map and squealed in delight! I LOVE botanical gardens so will defo give that a shot too. Thannnkkk yoouuu Melissa the tour guide.
