Last year, whenever Charles was faster than Lewis while Lewis was ahead, Ferrari would issue team orders. Lewis always complied because he was thinking about the team. But this year, they are afraid to even ask because they know Charles wouldn't do it, which would make everyone start calling the team cowards.

Ferrari chose to prioritise charles, even during the vsc they called in charles. They called in lewis after the vsc. Make it make sense?

@gaetanovalent19 @FER44Rl You do realised lewis was on softs given a target laptime of 36.5. Which he could not achieve while being stuck behind charles. Because it is hard to overtake around singapore. Just like kimi could not get passed lewis in the opening laps while lewis was on mediums.

@simscircuit He is referring to the pitstop call after the VSC ended. The call to stay out by lewis was AFTER the VSC. They did not call him into the pits during the VSC.

For clarification purposes, Lewis wasn’t called to pit under VSC on lap 39. Leclerc was.

Shortly after the VSC Hamilton was reminded he was on Plan B and they were getting close to his pit stop. That was when he made the call to stay out in the hopes that another VSC would be deployed.

I believe that’s the call he is apologising for.
