"Paul says that everyone that you know, whether they follow Jesus or not, is a slave to something because “you are slaves of the one you obey.”
"If we were not slaves to Jesus, we would be slaves to..."

"Sometimes we are faced with choices that have no good options. Sometimes our choices will hurt people. Sometimes our choices may be the pivot between life and death..."

"Just as the Pharisees thought that Jesus’ faith was wrong because he ate with tax collectors and sinners, lots of people, church people, and non-church people alike, often get this backwards. We aren’t Christian because we follow a bunch of rules."

We are commanded to doubt and skepticism.
"I have heard accusations such as “The church just twists the truth for their own profit.”
The accusations aren’t new, or even secular.
That's why Paul tells the church to “Test everything”"

Since last year's service used the story from the Gospel of John, this year I have interwoven passages from Matthew, Mark, and Luke. Happy Easter everyone!

This week is a little different. This is not a sermon. It is a dramatic reading of Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem and the passion story.

We have spent six weeks in self-reflection, but what have we learned about ourselves?
More importantly, what are we going to do about it?
