@RevRichardColes I had a similar experience coming back fro.mEdinburgh. All the staff got off because "they could not go any further south." Unfortunately, not only did a new crew get on, but so did another train's worth of people as the previous train simply couldn't face the South.
@anwit07@SoVeryBritish For some reason, there is always a terrific accumulation of rubbish and recycling into last two days pre holiday. Besides, you can't upset the rhythm of the bin collections. Civilisation would collapse!
@SoVeryBritish I was once asked to look after Alister, the butterfly with the dodgy wing, and the cat. Alister had to be fed a special sugar solution. Unfortunately, the cat knocked over the sugar solution. Every drop was rescued with kitchen paper and wrung out to be used. Everyone survived.
The 4th July is a date associated with a nation finally vanquishing an unpopular, out of touch ruler who charged taxes without providing services. Apt.

@RevRichardColes When I worked at the University, we moved to a new building in Priestly Road. It coincided with my first bowel screening test, and I had to walk past the bowel screening lab to get to the post box to get my sample to them. Sometimes, life seems unnecessarily complicated.
After aeons passed, 2 buses turned up.Both put on an 'Out of Service' sign. Both drivers had a vape/smoke break. 15 minutes later, they returned and one bus became a 460 and the other a 480. This bore no relation to the bus app, the bus stop timetable or the pdf on the website.
@vicderbyshire Just had a breast lump scare. Superb care from my GP (sent a contact request at7.30am, receptionist called at 9.30 am, saw the GP at 5 pm). I was referred to the local breast clinic, seen in 11 working days. Given the "all clear" on the day. I could not ask for better care.
MPs are in line to receive an above inflation pay rise of 7.1%
Yet the government didn’t think NHS staff deserved more than 5%, despite a decade of real terms pay cuts.
Please RT if you agree health workers deserve so much better.

Today at the pool, I was mesmerised by a pair of human torpedoes who shot from one end, arms going like pistons, to the other end. We mere mortals could only throw ourselves out of the way. Do you think that they just don't see us, or , I fear more likely, they don't care?
Our PPAE team raring to go at #CPC23 – with 10million living with #arthritis in the UK - we are there to ensure @Conservatives take arthritis seriously!
