@ItsSomjuu@MarvelRivals Hero designers =\= level designers. Balance doesn’t need more hands on it to be “better”. Just not how these things work. Can’t tell devs how to dev without understanding it. I get it but don’t shoot yourself and the rest of us in the foot because the last new hero was lame
@ffdyke I mean it was a genre term prescribed to it by people, so it can’t be a core aspect of the design. Friendslop games vary a ton but they’re just silly multiplayer games. This also looks like a silly multiplayer game
@edmundmcmillen Fire emblem’s highlighting the tiles a selected enemy can deal damage in (and they allow you to view all at once as one color, and manually selected enemy ranges as another color)
I wouldn’t have to double check back multiple times as I select a space to move to
@SamitoFPS Player expression is a type of fun and making a build in stadium is much more expressive than choosing between 2 perks.
Ultimately it’s the player side of what I wanted out of Overwatch 2 pve, but it’s a nice casual system that would be more fun as pve than pvp
@HoshizoraTTV The Luna thing is people absolutely misattributing their supp ult fatigue. But they’re still giving bad feedback. Luna has been pretty bad for a long time.
They really did overreact (massively) when we have naturally 700 effective hp supps to use instead
@staynystayne It is a funny clip.
It just also accentuates a problem with the perfect characters in a perfect little vacuum mid-game and the replies being overwhelmingly negative in a direction that’s wrong 😓
They’re too invested in their war
@jaseytv@simply_messi@staynystayne Or let alone using his own bubbled self sustain and/or fin form sustain
Not to mention this is HALF of ultron’s pocket (plus none of his abilities)
Rocket can also do more than just heal this target. His orbs go off and heal others.
It’s just not 2 supps of investment
@rolltothetop@Kek08029454@MapachitoAstral@simply_messi@staynystayne OUTPUT as in how much he outputs. 1 drone is half of that.
You can’t argue he’s getting the investment of 2 supports when one of them is healing his team just as much because he literally has 2 of those.
In addition to the fact they were both designed to heal slowest in game
@rolltothetop@Kek08029454@MapachitoAstral@simply_messi@staynystayne We’re not arguing about skill of necros in the clip and use of the ult. Do you not see a problem with half of ultron’s healing output, none of his abilities, and some rocket orbs keeping a character standing still alive in dd ult? It also counters the point of investment
@rolltothetop@Kek08029454@MapachitoAstral@simply_messi@staynystayne Ultron has two drones and can shoot elsewhere separately. The daredevil ulted and these two supports were originally designed as two of the lowest hps supps in the roster. The rocket could also get things done in between these shots. Call it 1.2 supps vs an ulting dps
@ACozyGamer Pve where it’s actually a hero shooter (supports can heal and tanks have reason to hold space on objective capture points). It’s how the game is built but went forgotten in the last one, making it stale between the characters and their roles. And no teamwork because of it
@KarkatSG@kayjii If they rework a lot of unique utility into these very flat support kits, that could work in tandem.
I think spreading the anti heal out more and less toothlessly is also a solution especially if they lower the sustain or kill potential of high support comps.
@KarkatSG@kayjii While this would solve the intended goal of this post, flattening healing and damage would homogenize their identities. Strats in rivals already have identity issues where they’re too similar and aren’t fun enough. They need to really reconsider how “do-everything” they want them
