How do you keep ending up with Sundar, Axar, and Dube as your 6-8 across formats? At some point, the match referee has to reject the team sheet for crimes against cricket.

Even with the most acceptable version of Sundar the batter, this is atrocious. I have liked some of what I have seen from him over the last year (Tuti Patriots Sundar is close), although the glass-body concern still remains, and it is unclear how seriously he is pursuing bowling. Without AR value, he is not good enough to be in the XI anyway.

All the focus is on whether Sooryavanshi plays, while India's bigger problem is that mediocre lower middle order from Tilak to Axar. It is a group that is far too easy to counter, and you do not even need variety in your bowling attack. Just one bowling type is often enough to get the job done on anything that isn't a road.

It is also the kind of middle and lower middle order that is not only ineffective but also painfully difficult to watch.

He just surpassed Pant's 2018 record en route to his 97(29).

He is also the highest at RAA/100b (raapb) and Impact/100b.

Great publication and much awaited sir. The issue is very complex and deserves greater understanding. It is well known that high-density core habitats often have elevated competition, territorial conflicts, displacement, and infanticide — all major biological stressors. In many of our collared tigresses, successful breeding and cub rearing have occurred even in peak tourism zones. Most cub losses observed were linked to infanticide and territorial turnover, phenomena strongly associated with density-dependent dynamics rather than tourism alone.

If tourism were the dominant driver preventing breeding success, we should not consistently observe tigers breeding and surviving in highly human-dominated landscapes outside protected areas. Yet examples from Chandrapur thermal plant areas, Brahmapuri, Chandrapur, Bhopal, Tippeshwar, Umred and several other landscapes clearly show otherwise. Nearly 30% of India’s tigers now survive and breed in human-dominated regions.

Stress levels in core areas may indeed be high, but attributing them primarily to tourism risks oversimplifying a much more complex ecological reality. Density, social interactions, prey dynamics, territoriality, dispersal pressure, and human disturbance all likely interact together. The reasons may be many — not just one.
