On December 7, 2023, the NMC issued a notice requiring FMGs to complete a 3-year internship/clerkship for online classes, which was previously 2 years.
The initial notice was specifically for Ukraine-returned FMGs who were unable to complete their classes due to their return. However, in their recent notice, they are applying the same rule to everyone.
On May 9th 2023 notice, @NMC_IND instructed FMGs to return and compensate for missed classes in order to qualify for a 1-year CRMI. However, on June 7th-24, they contradicted themselves by stating that compensation is not permitted.
Subsequently, after FMGs contested the initial notice, a revised notice was issued acknowledging compensation. However, it is no longer applicable to everyone.
It is essential for the @NMC_IND to address the bias and excessive burden faced by FMGs.

More than 10,000 FMG doctors @amdindia1 are facing the impact of NMC's @NMC_IND decision to enforce a 3-year internship.

🅰️ Is the government @MoHFW_INDIA and NMC aiming for cheap labor without paying stipends ❓ This is inhumane. ‼️FMG doctors deserve fair treatment, including stipends at par with Indian medical graduates.

🅱️After the successful completion 12 months of #CRRI, @OfficeofJPNadda please issue the internship completion certificates let them get permanent registration and allow these doctors to do a senior house internship if necessary, with the pay of a senior resident in government services.

FMGE should be treated at par with National exams! Make the qualifying exam as difficult as you want, assess the FMG thoroughly for medical knowledge, clinical application etc. But once someone clears the FMGE, they should be treated at par with National Graduates. This is a norm everywhere in the world. No sense in increasing internships and providing lesser paid opportunities and creating a divide.

On today’s FMGs meeting with NMC I saw the video where someone was doing personal attacks on Dr Aruna mam, I believe this could have been avoided and only the demands respectfully should have been kept

Crossing the line of respect to anyone gains nothing rather do more harm to the cause .
