As a Patient Navigator I serve as a sense of direction within the healthcare maze. I provide resources, improve outcomes & remove barriers. (pronouns she/her)
We must “focus technology to efficiently connect people to trained, compassionate people with shared lived experiences” Dr. Mandi Pratt-Chapman @GWCancer presenting now on policies impacting patient access to #PatientNavigation. #Tech4CancerNavigation
@GWCancer@PresCancerPanel Thank you Dr. Pratt-Chapman for representing our (patient navigator’s) voice and acknowledging the importance of patient inclusion through the entire process.
When my late husband was diagnosed with cancer, I actually became a certified massage therapist and reflexologist while working full time in film production to do all I could to ease his suffering. I didn’t have data like this but I knew it helped 👇👇
Important takeaways: There’s no better proven equity intervention than #PatientNav. Investing in patient navigation isn’t only the right thing to do, but it’s good from a health economics perspective—happier, healthier patients leads to better outcomes.

During my first meeting with the breast surgeon, I was given a book, this same book (earlier edition). It was handed out to all new breast cancer patients.
I'm happy and honored to now be included in this book's recommended reading section.
@ThanksCancer#moremightythancancer
Instead of saying something like, “Let me know if you need anything” … here are a few simple actions you can take to support a cancer patient.
It’s all about taking the burden off the patient. Don’t always assume they will ask for help. Most of us won’t.
Just in case you need to hear it again: if you survive cancer, you just get to live however you can. It wasn’t a barter. You aren’t required to do research, be a doctor/nurse, advocate, or be an inspiration for others. Surviving -and living your best life- is enough. 🥰
