Mark Carney’s government just gave us two perfect examples in one week of why trust in Ottawa is completely broken.

First, the $1.45 billion taxpayer-funded condo bailout in B.C. A program that conveniently helps developers offload empty units while regular Canadians still can’t afford a home. Brookfield Asset Management — the firm Mark Carney chaired before he entered politics — had just partnered on major industrial projects in B.C. right before this program was announced. Now Liberals are blocking any real investigation into it at the ethics committee.

Second, Canada just handed its largest military contract in history — $100 billion for 12 submarines — to Germany. South Korea offered a better deal: $70 billion in trade and investment, plus 25,000 Canadian jobs every year until 2044. Germany offered to build the subs in Germany and create “job years” spread over decades with almost no guaranteed Canadian work.

Carney chose the European option.

This is the same Prime Minister who keeps telling Canadians we need to get “closer to Europe” while treating our biggest trading partner and ally like the enemy. Same week the U.S. started unwinding parts of USMCA and China hit our farmers with new tariffs.

We’re watching real money and real decisions get steered in ways that benefit connected interests and foreign partners — while Canadians get higher costs, fewer jobs, and less accountability.

And when anyone tries to ask questions about any of it, the Liberals shut it down.

This isn’t competence.

Peel Regional PC Zahra Yusufzay has resolved a police discipline case stemming from an incident involving her service firearm.

Bit of a timeline -

- Dec. 16, 2024: While working in plain clothes, Yusufzay entered a fitting room at the Mango store in Square One. She removed her duty belt, which contained her loaded service firearm, spare loaded magazine and handcuffs. After receiving a work-related phone call, she left the fitting room and inadvertently left the equipment behind.

- A Mango employee discovered the unattended firearm and notified mall security, who contacted Peel Regional Police. Officers attended, treated the firearm as a public safety risk, rendered it safe and secured the equipment.

- Yusufzay later realized what had happened, contacted the store and mall security, returned to Square One and was reunited with her equipment.

- Mar. 11, 2025: She was arrested by Peel Regional Police Internal Affairs and charged with unsafe storage.

- In police disciplinary proceedings, she admitted misconduct for conduct likely to undermine public trust in policing.

She was docked 15 days.

The published disciplinary settlement does not disclose the disposition of the Criminal Code charge.

Heres the problem.

They never close out a police disciplinary matter until the criminal matter is dealt with. For a finding of guilt on ‘unsafe storage’ she has to receive a firearms prohibition. If she gets a firearms prohibition she cant even carry one at work, so they have to dismiss.

So what happened to the criminal charges?

Did they withdraw firearms charges against a serving officer so they wouldn’t have to fire her, or have they disposed of the police misconduct before any finding of criminal guilt so they wouldn’t have to fire her?

Either way, this doesn’t look good on Peel.

This woman is saying what way too many Canadians are feeling right now.

Single income household. Two teenage kids half the time. Average job well under six figures. Barely making ends meet. And she got **zero** from the so-called grocery rebate.

She thought she’d qualify. She didn’t. And she’s asking the question a lot of us are asking: who the hell actually got it?

Let’s be honest about what this really is.

They took the old GST/HST rebate, slapped a new name on it, and now act like they’re handing out some big win. It’s lipstick on a pig. The government taxes the middle class into the ground, creates a failed economy where people can barely afford to feed themselves or their kids, then turns around and gives back a few pennies while puffing their chest like they’re the saviors.

Meanwhile they flood the country with people who’ve contributed **zero** dollars into the system, hand them housing, food, clothing, education and full healthcare access while our own hospitals, schools and housing are completely overrun. Some have been here for years and still contribute nothing. Others should have been sent home long ago but are still living off the taxpayer’s back.

And the people who actually built this country? The ones working full-time, paying the bills, raising kids on one income? They get nothing. Many are losing their homes. Many can’t afford to eat properly. And they’re told to be grateful for a renamed rebate that was never meant for them in the first place.

This isn’t compassion. This is engineered decline.

You don’t get to destroy affordability, flood the system, and then act like the hero for giving back crumbs.

We are sick of the constant guilt-tripping. Sick of politicians turning Canada Day into a lecture about how "troubled and complicated" our history is. Sick of premiers like David Eby coming out every single year to remind us how evil our past supposedly was.

Newsflash: There has never been a perfect civilization on Earth. Not one. The only perfect man who ever walked this planet was Jesus Christ — and last I checked, nobody else is walking on water.

Canada is one of the greatest countries on the planet. We built something exceptional here. We have values, principles, and a standard of living that people from all over the world risk everything to come here for. And what do we get in return? Newcomers who get handed benefits and then turn around and call us evil, hateful, and colonial oppressors.

We’ve been too damn nice. Too passive. Too afraid to push back. And they’ve taken full advantage of it.

Real Canadians are done apologizing for existing. Done being ashamed of the country our ancestors built. Done letting cowards in power make us feel guilty for the best parts of our heritage.

If you love Canada, say it loud. If you hate it and want to tear down everything that made it great, there’s the door. Don’t let it hit you on the way out.

What the hell happened to Canada?

We used to feel proud saying “True North, Strong and Free.” Now it feels like a memory from a different country. Everything costs more, takes forever to fix, and barely works when it finally shows up. You work 60 hours a week and before the ink dries on your paycheck, Ottawa dreams up another tax, levy, or “initiative” to make sure less of your money stays in your pocket.

Crime is completely out of control. Criminals get more chances, more excuses, and better treatment than the people who follow the law. Legal gun owners who did all the paperwork and training get punished, while illegal guns used in real crimes somehow never lead to the same outrage.

And now the government wants backdoors into everything while big tech companies are the ones actually pushing back. Five years ago we called them the bad guys. Now they’re the only ones standing between us and total surveillance.

This isn’t the Canada I grew up in. This is managed decline dressed up as progress.

It's amazing to watch the freak-out on the left because Tamara Lich was invited to the U.S. Ambassador's Fourth of July garden party. The CBC ran a huge story on it. Even the New York Times contacted us. Left-wing twitter is having a melt-down.

And I can understand why.

The left has a monopoly on cancel culture. They get to decide who is acceptable and who is an un-person. They think the truckers are un-people or at least under-people. And so, for Tamara Lich to be invited to this high society event is an affront to them. Not only do they hate Tamara and the truckers, but they feel threatened that someone else with social power finds Tamara Lich acceptable and is normalizing her.

It goes without saying that the left doesn't care about Tamara's mischief conviction (which Tamara is appealing, by the way). These same leftist extremists cheered when terrorists like Omar Khadr and Joshua Boyle met with Trudeau and they're fine with convicted criminals actually sitting in Parliament, like @s_guilbeault, @ElizabethMay and @yfblanchet.

This is about the left's loss of control, even in Canada, where they already control most institutions. But that's the thing about deplatforming someone -- it only works if everyone's in on it.

The left doesn't control the U.S. ambassador and they don't control Tamara Lich -- or the hundreds of thousands of people who participated in or supported the trucker convoy.

This isn’t some random attack. It’s backed by a long, ugly track record.

At the Bank of England he predicted Brexit would trigger two quarters of negative growth and economic disaster. He was dead wrong on the scale and pushed “project fear” while keeping interest rates too low for too long. The result? Cheap credit flooded the system, housing became even more unaffordable, and inflation later spiked to the highest in 40 years.

He told governments to print money during COVID because he wrongly forecast deflation. We got the worst inflation in four decades instead.

Now he’s Prime Minister and the same pattern continues.

Canada is the only G7 country with a shrinking economy. We slipped into a technical recession with GDP contracting in late 2025 and early 2026. Productivity has stalled. Unemployment is rising. Half a trillion dollars in investment has left the country under the Liberals he now leads.

He doubled Trudeau’s deficit, added roughly $90 billion in new spending, and still has no real trade deal with our largest partner, the United States. Young professionals are leaving in record numbers. Grocery prices remain brutal. Housing is out of reach for an entire generation.

He keeps releasing glossy “strategic plans” and “Canada Strong” visions while delivering almost nothing measurable on the ground.

His personal investments through Brookfield are heavily tied to the same green energy and carbon schemes that are now collapsing. Critics say he’s been busy strip-mining Canadian assets to make his investors whole while the climate grift falls apart.

This is the man who was sold to Canadians as the adult in the room, the financial genius who would fix everything.

Instead he’s delivered managed decline, bigger deficits, a technical recession, and zero accountability.

The “illusion” Pierre Poilievre warned about is cracking in real time.

Carney isn’t an economic wizard.

He’s the architect of the mess we’re living through.

Imagine waking up to this announcement:

You bought the vehicle legally. You paid every tax, fee, and insurance premium for years. You never broke a single law.

Six years later your suv, truck or car is sitting in the garage, worthless. You can’t sell it, drive it, or even get it repaired without permission. Then the final notice arrives:

“We’re now seizing the vehicles. 99% of owners will receive nothing.”

When you object, the people who don’t own gas vehicles just shrug:

“Well, it doesn’t affect me.”
“You don’t need it anyway.”
“Think of the planet.”

Now replace “gas engine” with “legally purchased firearm.”

That’s not a scary hypothetical.

That’s exactly what hundreds of thousands of law-abiding Canadian gun owners have already lived through. The rules changed after they followed every single one of them. Their property was declared illegal overnight, and a huge chunk of the country looked the other way.

This isn’t about cars.
This isn’t about guns.

This overreach just creates the open door to confiscate whatever they decide

It’s about whether the government gets to decide your legal property is suddenly a crime… and whether anyone cares when it happens to someone else.

A 12-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by her own brother, a 26-year-old-man, yet a judge concluded that sending him to jail would be "cruel and unusual."

Cruel and unusual? What about the lifelong trauma inflicted on this innocent child?

Canadians are right to be outraged. Time and again, we see a justice system that seems more concerned with protecting offenders than delivering justice for victims.

Victims deserve justice. Child predators deserve prison. It shouldn't be controversial.
