The Ontario Governments promotion of speeding and breaking the law by the removal of speed cameras flies in the face of the Chief Coroners Report that noted a pedestrian hit at 50 km/h is five times more likely to die than one hit at 30 km/h. Speed kills. What are you doing?
Ontario Roady Safety Plan : Eliminate 700 speed cameras (note One camera caught 65,000 speeders) Why. ? Too costly to taxpayers. Whats the next step, eliminate breathalyzer because too costly to tax payers ( or is it really too costly to those who break law) Speed kills . ( Coroner of Ontario)

Coroner recommends Govt put in bike lanes -Ont Govt forces city to remove separated bike lane. Distracted driver kills cyclist. Driver gets small fine (Govt voted down Vulnerable User Law) Govt bans victim family from bringing lawsuit against them via Bill 212. Redo please.
For a government to handcuff cities and towns from using a complete streets design, is reprehensible to say the least. It is not only contrary to their own research, it is contrary to the legal principle recognized by our laws and courts, that our streets are to be “reasonably” safe for all.
Bike lanes save lives. Our work with injured cyclists and the Cycling Death Review proves safe, complete streets prevent tragedies. Blocking them is not just unsafe—it’s unjust.

We have represented hundreds of cyclists & work with engineers to reconstruct crashes. There is absolutely no doubt whatsoever having a separated bike lane would’ve prevented the vast majority of cases and any death or injuries @PatrickBrownLLB https://t.co/GNbPNtSgPH
👇🏼Thank you to @RespectTO Geoffrey Bercarich for receiving the first Alex Amaro Kindness Award for all that he does for the community. #nooneridesalone
🚴♂️🔍 Exploring Cycling Safety & Benefits: A Tweetorial 🚲
The @CanPaedSociety just released a new position statement on cycling safety that I’m proud to have co-authored with @suzannebeno and @PFuselli . Summary below - full paper here: https://t.co/XeiPR49jNE
Mandatory Sideguards on trucks were recommended in the Ontario Chief Coroners Review in 1998 and 2010 https://t.co/6sxM3pIv1y Where is the sideguard on this truck? #TODeadlyStreets#Ontario#cyclist Photo taken from CP24.
https://t.co/l34h2PlhLM As someone who has litigated many fatal cycling truck crashes, these are no “accidents.” A turn that impacts with any pedestrian or cyclist is “turn not in safety.” There are no “blind spots” to those who use proper driving skills according to my trucking and forensic engineering experts. @mcleishorlando

"The system is broken," said @PatrickBrownLLB "The entire system seems to be handcuffed against having any real conclusion to these charges that could send any meaningful deterrent so people stop doing this type of behaviour."

$166 million is great, but what about scrapping civil juries (that are not virtual) that would save millions more and reduce delay. Ontario one of the few jurisdictions in commonwealth that still has them. https://t.co/mdIpIxAYyy
Distracted Driving and cell phone use by drivers is setting records. And not in a good way. Why not bring the textalyzer and clamp down on this behavior. https://t.co/i6boJtkwAb
